About Us

Our vision is a world where every patient feels cared for and every doctor has the capacity to care. Our mission is to end the second shift.

For most doctors in Latin America, the workday doesn't end when the last patient leaves. A second shift starts on WhatsApp: patient messages, rescheduling, follow‑ups and payments, often late into the night. Leona takes that shift off their hands. Our AI assistant reads and answers patient WhatsApp threads, books appointments, and is expanding into billing and payments for medical practices. Today, doctors across 28 specialties in 14 countries use Leona to manage relationships with their patients.

We're building toward a future where patients feel cared for between visits, not just during them, and where doctors get their evenings back, while increasing their earnings.

With bases in San Francisco and Mexico City, our team brings together years of experience scaling companies like Uber, Rappi, and Modern Fertility across the US and Latin America. We're backed by a16z, General Catalyst and Accel, along with a remarkable group of angels including the founders of Nubank, Rappi, and Maven Clinic.

The Role

Leona is growing too fast for the founders to be in every room. You'll work alongside our CEO, Caroline Merin, as her right hand and report directly to her. You'll see everything she sees, decide what truly needs her attention, and handle the rest yourself. The core of the role is internal operations, investor relations, partnership management and special projects. Your job is to help Leona move faster and think more clearly, and to free the CEO to do the work only she can do. You'll help make the call, and then you'll own making it real. You won't be writing recommendations for someone else to carry out.

The team is small. Caroline and her cofounders currently run finance, HR, investor relations, and many parts of internal operations themselves. This role will own many of the day‑to‑day systems that keep the business running. The goal is both to improve how Leona makes decisions and to keep Caroline and her cofounders out of work that should no longer depend on them.

This role is idóneo if you want to start your own company one day. You'll learn how a venture‑backed company is built from Seed and beyond, by doing the work rather than watching it. If you want structure handed to you or a predictable week, this isn't the role for you.

What you’ll do

- Internal operations and operating rhythm
Build the day‑to‑day systems that keep the business running, covering areas including finance, HR, and business operations
Run planning, goal-setting and business reviews, and chase every commitment until it's done
- Investor relations
Own investor updates and communications, keeping a16z, General Catalyst, Accel and our angels close
- Support fundraising
- Partnership management
Work with the growth and ops teams to manage day‑to‑day partner relationships, keeping communication, commitments and follow‑through on track
- Special projects
Take on focused projects alongside Caroline, from a blank page to working,

before handing them to a dedicated owner. Examples include pricing, new market entry, value prop expansion, and recruiting.

Who you are

- 3-5 years in investment banking, consulting, venture capital, or a startup or high‑growth company, owning outcomes and not just analysis
- A clear, persuasive communicator fluent in English and Spanish, with Portuguese as a major plus
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize effectively, and drive execution in a fast‑paced environment
- A natural relationship builder: you build trust quickly and are credible and convincing with investors, partners and senior leaders.
- AI‑native: AI is already central to how you work, and you can walk us through a workflow you built
- A builder: someone who has built projects, businesses, or communities on your own
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Discreet: you'll see the most sensitive parts of the company and treat that as a privilege
- Comfortable operating with high ownership and relatively little structure; you create clarity, you don't wait for it
- Strong sense of urgency and deep intrinsic motivation

What to expect

- Autonomy & Responsibility: Real ownership from the start. You will own your time and efforts, prioritizing the activities that have the largest impact for the company
- Mentorship: Daily, direct mentorship from a founder who has scaled companies globally
- Ambiguity: We're early. The right answers aren't always obvious, and you will be responsible for navigating ambiguous environments and determining the best path forward
- Mission: We care deeply about what we're building, which means we set aggress
