About the Role

Our client, a leader in sustainable energy development, is seeking an Environmental Management Specialist for Energy Projects to join our fully remote team. This role is crucial for ensuring that all our energy projects, from renewable sources to infrastructure development, comply with stringent environmental regulations and best practices. You will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and overseeing environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the environmental stewardship of the Energía sector, working flexibly from anywhere in Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for new energy projects, identifying potential environmental risks and proposing mitigation measures.
- Develop and implement Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) for projects, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
- Monitor project sites to ensure adherence to environmental regulations, permit conditions, and company policies.
- Advise project teams on environmental best practices related to land use, water management, waste disposal, biodiversity protection, and emissions control.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, environmental consultants, and local communities to facilitate permitting processes and address environmental concerns.
- Prepare environmental reports, audits, and documentation for regulatory submissions and internal reviews.
- Develop and deliver environmental training programs for project staff and contractors.
- Investigate and report on environmental incidents, recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.




- Stay up-to-date with evolving environmental legislation, policies, and technologies relevant to the energy sector in Mexico.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the company's environmental management system.

Requirements

- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental management, impact assessment, and compliance, preferably within the energy sector.
- Proven experience in conducting EIAs and developing EMPs for large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of environmental laws and regulations in Mexico.
- Familiarity with various energy project types (e.g., power generation, transmission lines, renewable energy installations).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in relevant environmental modeling software and GIS tools is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, and meet strict deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection.
- Fluency in Spanish; proficiency in English is highly desirable.
