About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Automotive Materials and Testing Engineer to join their advanced research and development team in Querétaro City, Querétaro . This pivotal role involves the evaluation, selection, and testing of materials used in automotive components to ensure optimal performance, durability, and compliance with stringent industry standards. You will work with a variety of materials, including polymers, metals, and composites, utilizing sophisticated testing equipment and methodologies. Key Responsibilities

- Characterize and test various materials (metals, polymers, composites, coatings) for automotive applications.
- Develop and validate material testing procedures and protocols according to industry standards (ASTM, ISO, SAE).
- Analyze test results, interpret material properties, and provide recommendations for material selection and design.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to address material-related challenges and optimize component performance.
- Investigate material failures and conduct root cause analysis.
- Manage material inventory and coordinate with suppliers for material qualification.




- Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment, ensuring calibration and accuracy.
- Stay updated on new materials, testing technologies, and automotive industry trends.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in materials engineering or testing, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of material properties, behavior, and failure mechanisms.
- Experience with various testing techniques, such as mechanical testing (tensile, fatigue, impact), thermal analysis, and chemical analysis.
- Proficiency in laboratory practices and equipment operation.
- Knowledge of automotive material standards and specifications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
