About the Role

Our client, a prominent real estate developer, is seeking a seasoned Director of Construction Projects to oversee large-scale urban development initiatives in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, MX. This role demands a strategic leader with extensive experience in managing all facets of construction projects, from initial planning and zoning to final handover. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules, identifying critical paths and potential delays.
- Select and manage general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
- Liaise with government agencies, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
- Manage project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project status reports to senior management.




- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Resolve any disputes or issues that arise during the construction process.
- Oversee the project close‑out process, including final inspections and documentation.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with a significant portion in large-scale urban development.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Strong understanding of contract negotiation and management.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in construction project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
- Experience working in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, MX or similar environments is advantageous.
