About the Role

Our client, a leading hospital in the region, is seeking an accomplished and visionary Farmacéutico Jefe de Farmacia Hospitalaria to lead their pharmacy department in Toluca, State of Mexico . This senior leadership role demands extensive experience in hospital pharmacy management, a commitment to excellence in patient care, and the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team of pharmacy professionals. The Jefe de Farmacia will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives of the pharmacy department. Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and strategic direction for the hospital pharmacy department. Oversee all aspects of pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, clinical services, procurement, and inventory management. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies and professional standards. Develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement programs to enhance patient safety and medication therapy outcomes. Manage the pharmacy budget, optimize resource allocation, and control costs. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate pharmacy staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous learning. Collaborate effectively with medical staff, nursing, and other hospital departments to ensure integrated patient care. Oversee the implementation and utilization of pharmacy information systems and automation technologies.



Represent the pharmacy department on hospital committees and at external professional meetings. Stay abreast of advancements in pharmaceutical care, hospital operations, and healthcare trends.

Requirements

- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid and current pharmacy license in Mexico.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in hospital pharmacy, with at least 4 years in a management or leadership role (e.g., Pharmacy Director, Assistant Director, Manager).
- Extensive knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice, including clinical services, sterile compounding, and medication safety.
- Proven experience in budget management, personnel supervision, and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., JCI, COFEPRIS).
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with pharmacy automation and technology integration.
- Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Master's degree in Pharmacy Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is highly desirable.
