About the Role

Our client, a leading financial services institution, is actively seeking a dedicated Legal Advisor specializing in Regulatory Compliance. This role is essential for ensuring the company adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, thereby mitigating legal and reputational risks. The successful candidate will play a key part in developing and implementing robust compliance programs. Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs and policies.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations (e.g., financial, data privacy, anti-corruption) and assess their impact on the company.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
- Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance matters and best practices.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and respond to inquiries or examinations.
- Manage the company's whistleblowing and internal reporting mechanisms.
- Advise business units on compliance implications of new products, services, and business initiatives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory landscape and industry trends.
- Prepare compliance reports for senior management and the board of directors.

Requirements

- Law degree (Licenciatura en Derecho)



from a recognized institution; a Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Compliance, Corporate Law, Financial Law) is highly advantageous.
- Admission to the Mexican Bar (or eligibility to be admitted).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal or compliance role, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Thorough understanding of Mexican financial regulations, anti-money laundering (AML) laws, data protection regulations, and anti-bribery laws.
- Experience in developing and implementing compliance frameworks and conducting risk assessments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
- Proficiency in both Spanish and English is required.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple compliance initiatives simultaneously.
