About the Role

Fanatics Collect is building its first engineering hub in Mexico City, and this role is central to making it a great place to work from day one. As People and Workplace Lead, you will be the on-the-ground presence for a growing team — starting with launch and move-in preparation and evolving into a full HR support function as the office scales from its initial cohort of engineers to a broader 40+ person hub spanning engineering, data, design, and product.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who is equally comfortable coordinating a furniture delivery and having a sensitive employment conversation. You bring operational energy, HR expertise,

and the kind of presence that makes a new office feel established.

What You'll Do

Launch & Office Readiness (near-term)

Coordinate the physical move-in and Day 1 readiness for the WeWork Reforma space - furniture, IT equipment delivery, badging, and workspace setup

Attend hiring events, career fairs, and campus recruiting activities to represent Fanatics Collect in the CDMX tech market

Partner with IT and InfoSec to ensure network and hardware setup meets security requirements from day one

Serve as the local point of contact for vendors, building management, and facilities coordination

HR Operations (ongoing)

Lead new hire onboarding for all CDMX employees — coordinate pre-boarding logistics, Day 1 orientation, and 30/60/90-day check-ins

Serve as the first line of employee relations support — advising employees and managers on HR policies, workplace concerns, and LFT-compliant practices

Support employee engagement initiatives including team events, recognition programs, and culture-building activities in the office

Assist in HR investigations and workplace inquiries, maintaining confidentiality and following established protocols in partnership with the global HR team

Support performance management and disciplinary processes, including terminations, in coordination with Legal and global People Ops

Consult with leadership and managers on people matters — you are the HR presence in the room when the global team is not on-site

Maintain accurate employee records and support HRIS data hygiene for all CDMX staff

Ensure compliance with Mexican labor law (LFT) requirements across employment practices, contracts, and benefits administration

About You

Required

3-6 years of HR generalist or HR operations experience, ideally in a fast-growing technology or multinational environment

Strong working knowledge of Mexican labor law (LFT), IMSS, and standard employment practices in Mexico

Full professional bilingualism in English and Spanish — you communicate clearly and confidently in both languages with both local and global stakeholders

Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential HR matters with discretion, empathy, and sound judgment

Comfortable operating independently in an environment that is still building its local structure

Nice to Have

Experience supporting office launches or expansions in a remote or regional capacity

Familiarity with Deel or other EOR platforms

Background in tech, e-commerce, or a high-growth startup environment

Experience with HRIS platforms (Oracle, Workday, or similar)

What We Offer

Competitive, market-benchmarked MXN compensation with full statutory benefits

A front-row seat to building something new — this office will grow significantly, and so will your scope

A global team invested in your success, with resources and support from People Ops, Legal, and IT across Fanatics

WeWork Reforma workspace in one of Mexico City's premier tech corridors
