CIMMYT is seeking a motivated Assistant Research Associate - Agronomy to support research activities focused on crop production and sustainable agricultural practices. The successful candidate will assist in planning and conducting agronomic experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and contributing to research reports. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in agronomy research within an international agricultural research organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and implementation of agronomic field experiments.
- Collect, record, and manage experimental data accurately.
- Support laboratory and field work related to soil, water, and crop management.
- Perform basic data analysis and contribute to report writing.
- Maintain research equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with research team members to achieve project objectives.
- Follow safety and quality standards in all research activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Soil Science, or related field.
- Previous experience or internships in agricultural research is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of agronomic principles and experimental techniques.
- Familiarity with data collection and analysis tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to participate in fieldwork and travel as required.
