Mechanical Design Engineer – Automotive Lighting Systems

Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in CAD modeling and development of front lamps and center lighting systems, using Siemens NX and Dassault Systèmes CATIA. Experienced in working with major automotive OEMs including General Motors, and supporting projects for Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW.

Key Responsibilities

•Supported industrialization projects, managing engineering changes and proposing effective design solutions.

•Designed and documented components and systems, including prototypes, new parts, assemblies, and modifications.

•Created 3D-PDF technical drawings using NX, CATIA, and Siemens Teamcenter.

•Worked on ongoing development projects using Class-A surfaces, ensuring feasibility and ease of assembly in line with customer and internal standards.

•Designed key lighting components such as:





◦Housings

◦2K outer lenses & inner lenses

◦Diffusers, reflectors, bezels

◦Holders, light pipes

◦Adjustment systems, harnesses, PCBs, heat sinks

•Conducted airflow studies to optimize thermal performance.

•Managed CAD data exchange with internal teams and external suppliers.

Technical Skills

•CAD Tools: Siemens NX, Dassault Systèmes CATIA, SolidWorks

•PLM Tools: Siemens Teamcenter

•Expertise: Automotive lighting design, Class-A surfacing, 3D modeling, technical documentation
