Position Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Design Release Engineer (DRE) to join our Chassis Engineering team. In this entry-level to early-career role, you will support senior engineering staff in the design, packaging, release, and validation of automotive wheel and tire assemblies (including rims, tires, center caps, valves, and wheel fasteners). Working remotely from Mexico, you will gain hands-on experience with the complete product lifecycle, collaborating with North American engineering teams, cross-functional groups, and Tier-1 automotive suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering Release & CAD Support
• Support Senior DREs in creating and updating 2D engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and GD&T; specifications for wheels and tires.
• Maintain and track Bill of Materials (BOM), part releases, and Engineering Change Requests (ECR/ECO) inside the PLM system (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill).
• Perform basic packaging, clearance, and dynamic envelope checks using CAD to prevent interference with brake, suspension, and body components. 2. Validation & Testing Assistance
• Help create, maintain, and review Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R;) for wheel structural durability, impact performance, corrosion, and tire performance.
• Collect, compile, and analyze test data from laboratory fatigue tests (radial/cornering fatigue, curb impact) and tire characterization testing.
• Assist in root cause analysis investigations (using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for issues discovered during prototype testing or vehicle assembly. 3. Cross-Functional Coordination
• Support communication between design studio, vehicle dynamics, chassis teams,

and manufacturing/assembly plants.
• Coordinate documentation delivery with Tier-1 wheel and tire suppliers to track APQP deliverables and PPAP submission timelines.
• Participate in regular cross-functional engineering status meetings and document action items. Required Qualifications & Skills
•

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline (recent graduates welcome).
•

Experience:
0 to 2 years of relevant engineering experience (internships, university automotive projects such as Formula SAE / Baja SAE, or entry-level positions).
• CAD Foundations: Familiarity with 3D CAD software (CATIA V5/V6, NX, or Creo) and basic knowledge of 2D engineering drawings and GD&T.;
• Engineering Basics: Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, strength of materials, and basic manufacturing processes (casting, forging, stamping).
• Language: Professional English communication skills (written and spoken) to interact daily with North American engineering leads. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Prior internship or co-op experience with an automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier.
• Basic understanding of Automotive Core Tools (APQP, DFMEA, PPAP).
• Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia).
• Genuine passion for vehicle dynamics, tires, or wheel design. Working Conditions & Remote Setup
•

Location:
100% Remote within Mexico.
• Travel: Minimal (up to 5–10% travel for plant visits or supplier audits as needed).
• Work Schedule: Full-time aligned with North American business hours (CST/EST).
