The platform focuses on improving transparency in healthcare pricing and helping organizations design more efficient and affordable health plans. As regulatory frameworks such as the Transparency in Coverage Rule and the CURES Act reshape the industry, data-driven decision making is becoming critical for employers, brokers, and insurers. Our client is a venture-backed healthcare technology company supported by leading investors and innovation programs from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The team combines expertise in clinical care, healthcare data, and product development to deliver solutions that improve affordability and transparency in healthcare. Role Summary Our client is seeking a credentialed Senior Healthcare Actuary who wants to go beyond traditional actuarial analysis and contribute directly to product development. This role will serve as the actuarial backbone of the platform, translating complex healthcare data into actionable insights for employers and health plans. The position involves working closely with engineering and product teams to design the algorithms and logic that power healthcare cost transparency tools, alternative plan designs, and cost containment strategies. Responsibilities Core Modeling & Methodology
• Plan Design Analytics:



Model the impact of health plan design changes and calculate Plan Actuarial Values (AV).
• Medical Claims Analysis: Ingest, clean, and analyze large medical claims datasets to identify trends and baseline costs.
• Provider Evaluation: Assess provider cost and quality metrics to support tiered networks and high-performance provider strategies.
• Network Comparison: Expand and refine tools that compare carrier network costs and performance. Product & Algorithm Development
• Engineering Collaboration: Partner with product and engineering teams to translate actuarial logic into scalable algorithms and user-friendly software tools.
• Behavioral Modeling: Apply research on benefit incentives and decision support tools to predict member utilization behavior and cost outcomes. Communication & Strategy
• Stakeholder Communication: Present actuarial methodologies and analytical results to both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership, clients, and investors.
• Industry Engagement: Maintain and leverage a professional network across national carriers and consulting firms to stay informed on market trends and validated methodologies Requirements

Experience:
5–10 years of experience in healthcare actuarial work, particularly involving medical claims data.
• Technical

Skills:
Ability to work with large and complex datasets; familiarity with SQL, Python, or R is strongly preferred.
• Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of healthcare plan design, utilization management, and provider network mechanics.
• Additional Expertise: Familiarity with price transparency data and episode-based claims bundling is highly desirable. Please note: you will be contracted by Gold Media Tech.
