From concept to completion, we deliver intelligent control solutions across the HVAC/Energy Management, Medtech, Appliance Controls, Water & Air, Smart Home/Building and Tools & Power Management markets. World-class technology, engineering and manufacturing capabilities make us the integrated partner of choice for clients seeking end-to-end solutions.
With over 4,000 employees across 25+ global locations, including 8 manufacturing facilities, 7 engineering centres and over 500 designers and engineers, we create intelligent products that enable smart and sustainable living. For over five decades, Computime has worked with leading OEMs through our Glocalization Strategy, where local centres of design excellence and a global network of manufacturing facilities converge.
The result: tailored solutions produced at the speed and quality the industry's highest standards demand.
We are Hiring a Test Engineer.
Position Objetive:
Ensure that every product coming off the production line is tested reliably and efficiently. Own the ICT, Functional Test (FT), Programming, Calibration, and HIPOT testing processes by developing, validating, and maintaining test programs and fixtures, reducing false failures and cycle times, and providing technical support to Production and Quality.
Primary Focus: ICT testing on TRI equipment, along with the development and analysis of test solutions using LabVIEW.
Key Responsibilities.
- Develop, debug, and optimize ICT test programs on TRI equipment and functional test programs in LabVIEW for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Design or specify test fixtures (including bed-of-nails and functional test fixtures) in collaboration with suppliers; validate and maintain them.
- Manage microcontroller and memory programming stations, including firmware version control.
- Ensure that test and measurement equipment is properly calibrated and that daily HIPOT electrical safety test verification is performed.
- Validate test processes and equipment using MSA / Gage R&R;, Golden Units, and IQ/OQ/PQ methodologies.
- Analyze ICT and functional test logs using custom LabVIEW tools; monitor First Pass Yield (FPY), test coverage, and cycle time; and lead root cause analysis of failures using 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa diagrams.
- Provide technical support to test and repair technicians in component-level failure diagnosis and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including work instructions, test procedures, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, TPM) and projects focused on reducing test costs and improving production capacity and throughput (UPH).
- Serve as the technical point of contact for customers and test equipment suppliers regarding test coverage, specifications, and audits.
Requirements.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Digital Systems Engineering, or a related field. Degree must be completed.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Test Engineer in electronics manufacturing (EMS / PCBA), preferably in the automotive, home appliance, or industrial sectors.
- Language: Intermediate-to-advanced English proficiency,
including verbal communication with customers and suppliers and the ability to understand and prepare technical documentation.
Technical Knowledge
- ICT on TRI equipment (Test Research Inc., TR5001 / TR518 series) — Required: Experience with test programming, debugging, threshold adjustment, and fixture validation. Additional experience with Keysight or Teradyne equipment is a plus.
- LabVIEW — Preferred Programming Language: Experience developing functional test sequences, instrument drivers, and test data analysis tools. CLAD/CLD certification and TestStand experience are desirable. Python or C# programming skills are a plus. Experience using digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, power supplies, and electronic loads is also required.
- Device Programming: Experience with JTAG, SWD, in-circuit programmers, and firmware version control.
- HIPOT / Electrical Safety and Equipment Calibration: Knowledge of electrical safety testing, calibration traceability, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Electronics Troubleshooting: Ability to read schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and PCB CAD files, and perform component-level diagnostics.
- Standards: Knowledge of IPC-A-610, IATF 16949 / ISO 9001, MSA, and PFMEA.
Desired Competencies.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, including experience with yield analysis, Pareto analysis, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve issues under production pressure.
- Clear communication with Production, Quality, customers, and suppliers.
- Strong documentation practices and engineering change control discipline.
- Availability to support different shifts and travel occasionally.
- Preferred: Experience with test station automation, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) / traceability systems, or Six Sigma certification.
