Oneday is a VC-backed EdTech company that supports aspiring entrepreneurs from all corners of society to launch their dream business, with expert mentorship, a deep curriculum, and a vibrant community of founders. We've raised $20M+ from leading UK and Silicon Valley VCs.

We deliver accredited degrees in partnership with William Jewell College, a private liberal arts college in the Kansas City metro. After building an Entrepreneurial MBA together, we're now launching a bachelor's degree for founders, and this role is at the center of it.

The Role

We're looking for a precise, student-focused Academic Advisor to own each founder's path to their bachelor's degree, from the day their transcripts are evaluated to the day they graduate.

Our founders are working adults building a business while they finish their degree. Most arrive with credits from other colleges, a full-time job, and a family. Before anything else, they want a clear answer to one question: how long will this take, and what do I take when? Your job is to give them that answer, build the plan, and keep it current as their lives change.

You'll review transfer credit evaluations (prepared with an AI tool that handles most of the line-by-line work), check and validate them, and turn each one into a semester-by-semester schedule, whether the founder has one year to go or three. That includes working out which core curriculum requirements they've already met and how their prior credits map to the program. Then you'll meet founders to walk through the plan, explain how studying part-time or full-time affects their timeline and financial aid, and help them adjust when they need to add, drop, or change pace.

This role sits within our Founder Success team, alongside Onboarding and Cohort Management. You'll also work closely with William Jewell's academic, registrar, and student financial services teams, and you'll be set up to work directly in the College's student systems.

What you'll do

Build every founder's degree plan

- Review transfer credit evaluations, verify anything flagged for a human check, and validate transcripts against the College's requirements
- Map each founder's prior credits to the program, including which core curriculum requirements are already met
- Turn each evaluation into a personalized degree plan that sets out every semester to graduation, and tells the founder how many semesters they have ahead
- Register founders each term and update their plan when they add, drop, or change course load
- Run degree audits each term so every founder knows they're on track to graduate

Guide founders through the decisions

- Meet each founder one-on-one by video or phone to walk through their plan and timeline to completion
- Explain how course load (for example, 6 vs. 12 credit hours a semester) affects time to graduation and financial aid, and route detailed aid questions to Student Financial Services
- Explain College policies in plain language: add/drop, withdrawal, incompletes, academic standing, probation,

and leave of absence
- Offer some evening availability, because most founders work during the day

Spot risk early

- Monitor grades, LMS engagement, and attendance, and reach out within 48 hours of an early alert
- Build and track success plans for founders on probation or returning after a break
- Work with Cohort Managers and mentors so academic and business-building issues are picked up together, not in separate places

Keep the operation tight

- Document every advising interaction in our CRM and the College's student information system, in line with FERPA
- Coordinate with Onboarding, the Registrar, and Student Financial Services so handovers are clean
- Report on caseload persistence, progression, and graduation
- Turn recurring founder questions into SOPs and process improvements, so advising scales as the program grows

You'll likely do well here if you

- Have two or more years in academic advising, student services, registrar, or enrollment work in higher education
- Know your way around undergraduate transfer credit, degree audits, general education requirements, and academic policy, and have working knowledge of FERPA
- Have advised adult learners, online students, or degree-completion students
- Check the detail, because one misread credit can move someone's graduation date by a semester
- Explain complex policy in plain, encouraging language, and hold founders accountable with warmth
- Manage a large caseload in a CRM and student information system with steady follow-through
- Are comfortable with AI tools, and would rather review and improve an automated output than redo it by hand
