MK Illumination is an international company of Austrian origin specializing in the design, production, and implementation of decorative lighting solutions and unique visual experiences.

Our Mexican operations combine manufacturing, commercial activities, and project-based services. As we continue developing our business, we are looking for a Finance & Controlling Manager to strengthen financial management, improve profitability, and help build a more efficient and scalable organization.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on financial leader who combines strong financial controlling capabilities with a solid understanding of accounting, manufacturing operations, and business performance.

This is more than a traditional finance position. You will play a key role in improving financial visibility, optimizing costs, strengthening internal controls, and supporting strategic decisions across the business.

Working closely with the Managing Director in Mexico and our headquarters in Austria, you will lead the local finance function and help drive financial and operational improvements.

Your Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Controlling

- Lead budgeting, financial forecasting, cash-flow management, and working capital optimization.
- Analyze profitability by project, product, and business activity, identifying opportunities to improve margins and reduce costs.
- Develop financial KPIs, management reports, and reliable financial information to support business decisions.
- Act as the main finance and controlling contact for Austrian headquarters, ensuring accurate group reporting and timely responses to information requests.

Accounting & Financial Governance

- Oversee internal accounting activities, monthly and annual closings, financial controls, and compliance.




- Lead and develop the local finance team while collaborating closely with external accounting, tax, and payroll partners.
- Strengthen financial processes, approval procedures, and financial transparency across the organization.

Operational Controlling & Business Improvement

- Establish financial controls over procurement, material purchasing, inventory, and project costing.
- Review and approve material purchase orders in accordance with established budgets and financial policies.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Logistics, and HR to monitor costs, improve financial visibility, and coordinate operational reporting.
- Partner with management to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and sustainable profitability.

Digitalization & Process Optimization

- Support the implementation and optimization of Odoo as the company's ERP platform.
- Drive the digitalization and automation of accounting, controlling, and financial reporting processes.
- Exchange best practices with finance teams across MK Illumination's international operations.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in Finance, Financial Controlling, FP&A;, or Accounting, ideally with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cash-flow management, financial analysis, accounting, and management reporting.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or project-based business environments, including cost analysis, inventory,



and profitability management.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial process improvement.
- Advanced English and Spanish communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Querétaro, Mexico.

Work Arrangement: Full-time, on-site (Monday–Friday)

Target Start Date: January 2027

Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications. Potential performance-based bonus and additional benefits subject to confirmation.
