POSITION PURPOSE The Machine Excellence Engineer Specialist is responsible for managing and strengthening the technical knowledge of assigned equipment and technologies. This role develops and implements systemic actions to improve early failure detection, prevent recurrence, increase mean time between failures (MTBF), and optimize preventive maintenance strategies.

The position also plays a key role in developing the technical capabilities of maintenance personnel to effectively diagnose, analyze, and resolve equipment issues.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Ensure the team follows all safety requirements and uses appropriate safety equipment at all times.
- Strengthen the technical capabilities of maintenance personnel through the skills matrix, technical training, and knowledge assessments.
- Maintain assigned maintenance KPIs accurate and up to date.
- Promote a loss-prevention culture by implementing systemic actions that reduce equipment failures and prevent recurrence.
- Ensure technical information and documentation are available to support effective equipment troubleshooting and failure diagnosis.
- Incorporate lessons learned and failure analysis results into the technical skills matrix and training strategy.
- Implement improvements focused on eliminating or controlling recurring failure modes.
- Support strategies to improve equipment reliability, preventive maintenance effectiveness, TPM, and OEE.
- Schedule technical training sessions and knowledge assessments for maintenance personnel.

NATURE AND SCOPE This position provides specialized technical support to the Maintenance organization, with a strong focus on equipment reliability, failure prevention, troubleshooting, and technical capability development.





The role works closely with maintenance technicians and manufacturing teams to identify equipment risks, analyze failures, implement corrective and preventive actions, and continuously improve maintenance practices.

The position is also responsible for proactively identifying and addressing risks or process deviations that could impact product quality, employee safety, or the environment, in accordance with established operational controls at the BAC Monterrey facility.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- More than 3 years of experience in similar positions.
- More than 5 years of technical experience in manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of electronic and control systems, including HMI, PLC, and power systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance plans and programs.
- Knowledge of different maintenance approaches, including time-based, frequency-based, and condition-based maintenance.
- Knowledge of equipment installation and commissioning.
- Experience with reliability methodologies, including TPM and OEE.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as SMED, Kaizen, and PDCA.
- Strong problem-solving skills using tools such as Ishikawa, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Cause Mapping.
- Experience developing technical training materials and strengthening technical competencies within maintenance teams.
- Knowledge of ISO 9000, ISO 45000, and ISO 14000 standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Service-oriented leadership and ability to work collaboratively with technical and manufacturing teams.
- English proficiency.

LOCATION This role is 100% onsite M-F, 6 A.M. - 3:36 P.M. At our Ciénega de Flores facility.
