Project description We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of automotive components, with a focus on 3 D modeling, surface design, mechanical part design, and product integration. The ideal candidate will have experience with CATIA V5, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;), and mechanical design principles, preferably within the automotive industry. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional and integral teams to develop products that meet customer specifications, quality standards, and project requirements. Responsibilities - Review customer requirements and engineering specifications with guidance from senior engineers.- Create and modify 3 D components and assemblies using CATIA V5.- Support design activities using Part Design and Generative Shape Design (GSD).- Prepare and update 2 D engineering drawings according to established standards.- Apply basic GD&T; principles and support tolerance stack-up activities.- Implement design changes based on engineering feedback and customer requirements.- Learn and apply design guidelines for plastic components and injection molding.- Support design reviews and document engineering decisions.- Assist with technical documentation and preparation of design justifications.- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve design issues.- Support product validation activities and implement changes identified during testing.- Complete assigned tasks according to project procedures, quality expectations, and timelines. SKILLS Must have - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.- 1–3 years of experience in mechanical design or a related engineering role.- Basic to intermediate proficiency in CATIA V5, preferably with exposure to GSD and Part Design.- Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T; principles.- Understanding of fundamental mechanical design concepts and manufacturing processes.- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.- Advanced English communication skills.- Willingness to learn, receive technical guidance, and develop engineering skills.- Internship or professional experience in the automotive industry.- Exposure to plastic component design or injection molding.- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 and tolerance stack-up analysis.- Basic knowledge of assembly constraints and manufacturing feasibility.- Exposure to automotive lighting components or other automotive assemblies.
