Our more than 22,000 employees are committed to relentlessly enhancing the fan experience and delighting sports fans globally.
About the Company
Fanatics Collectibles is the home of sports cards, trading cards, and collectibles for over 100 million fans worldwide. As part of the global Fanatics platform, we're rebuilding how collectors discover, buy, sell, and experience their hobby with world class technology and product experiences.
As part of Fanatics' continued global growth, we are establishing a new technology hub in Mexico City focused on operational excellence, platform scalability, trust, and customer experience. This team partners closely with Customer Experience (CX), Trust & Safety, Fraud Prevention, Payments, and Financial Operations organizations to build scalable systems and operational tooling that support millions of users and transactions globally.
The Role
Topps is transforming the trading card from a physical product into a connected collector experience. Through scanning, digital claiming, progression programs, and partner activations, collectors can authenticate, track, unlock, and redeem rewards tied to the cards they own, connecting physical products with their digital collector accounts.
As a
Frontend Software Engineer
on the Collector Engagement team, you'll build the technology and collector-facing experiences that bring these programs to life. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, Backend,

and Platform Engineering to develop progression and quest features, redemption and reward mechanics, leaderboards, retail and live-event check-ins, in-venue experiences, and integrations that turn a card scan into an account-level event. With programs launching around card releases and major sports moments, you'll help create reusable platform capabilities that support each new experience.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test and maintain collector-facing application features and shared components for collector engagement programs
Build scalable, responsive and resilient experiences covering progression, redemption, leaderboard and check-in flows
Implement designs with full interaction state coverage, including loading, empty, ineligible, partially complete, expired and error states
Collaborate with backend engineers and product stakeholders to define and implement APIs and client workflows
Build scan and QR entry points that perform on low-end devices and constrained networks
Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code following established frontend best practices
Contribute to architectural discussions, technical planning and platform improvements
Contribute to the shared component library so that each new program reuses existing building blocks
Instrument features for program telemetry so collector actions are consistently measurable
Optimize application performance, reliability, accessibility and user experience
Participate in release management, CI/CD improvements and operational support
Help improve observability, crash reporting and quality standards
Conduct code reviews and support mentorship across the engineering team
Stay current with frontend ecosystem trends, libraries and development patterns
Required Qualifications
3+ years of professional frontend or mobile development experience
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript and modern component-based development
Experience with a modern component framework such as React or React Native
Familiarity with REST or GraphQL APIs, client networking, and asynchronous programming
Working knowledge of client-side state management,

caching, and degraded-network behavior
Experience building scalable consumer-facing applications
Ability to implement designs faithfully, including the interaction states not covered in the specification
Understanding of application performance optimization and testing strategies
Experience instrumenting analytics and working with the resulting data
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems
Strong collaboration and communication skills within cross-functional environments
Professional working proficiency in English, with daily collaboration across US-based product and engineering partners
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting marketplace, e-commerce, loyalty, or high-engagement consumer applications
React Native experience, or exposure to native iOS or Android development
Experience with camera, QR or NFC integration
Familiarity with GraphQL, WebSockets, or real-time communication technologies
Experience with analytics, experimentation platforms and observability tooling
Animation and interaction craft for reward, unlock and reveal moments
Passion for sports, collectibles, creators, or digital communities
Code-Writing Contribution
This role requires strong hands-on frontend development expertise. Engineers at this level are expected to independently deliver production-ready features, contribute to application architecture and technical design discussions, and maintain high standards for code quality, scalability and user experience consistent with role expectations.
