As a North America Packaging Engineer at Aptiv, you will play a key role within our Global Production Control & Logistics (PC&L;) Operations, leading packaging activities from design through implementation.
Working closely with Plant PC&L; Managers, Regional PC&L; Directors, senior management, and other business functions, you will drive packaging optimization initiatives, support new product launches, improve logistics costs, and help enable efficient material flow across our operations.Roles and ResponsibilitiesDesign, test, and implement outbound packaging for new product launchesCoordinate packaging development from design through implementationRelease documentation and provide production-intent packaging at PV Build in support of launch performance goalsParticipate in advanced material meetings prior to SOP to ensure original and alternative packaging solutions are implementedSupport packaging activities for RFQsPackaging Optimization & Cost ImprovementDrive packaging optimization initiatives across the organizationEnsure packaging value and percentage to sales outperform BBP targetsSupport profitability improvement initiativesImprove returnable packaging flow managementDrive robust logistics cost improvement projectsProcess Excellence & Global CollaborationSupport the Integral Packaging Engineering group in areas related to people, processes, roadmap, and financialsEnsure compliance with packaging procedures and processesDefine RACI for inbound and outboundPackaging PlanningShare packaging best practices across sitesSupport customers in developing packaging excellence solutionsLead performance management of site teams to drive excellence in KPI and forecast managementContinuous ImprovementParticipate in Kaizen and Gemba workshops as neededSupport the transformation of the Production Control & Logistics (PC&L;) functionPartner with plants, senior management,



and other business functions to drive packaging and logistics improvementsYour BackgroundBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Business Management, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or another relevant field5+ years of significant experience in a business process role related to Supply Chain Operations, Manufacturing, and LogisticsExtensive knowledge of Supply Chain processes, preferably within Operations, Manufacturing, and LogisticsAdvanced knowledge of SAP and other relevant systems and tools, with professional user experience in a challenging environmentGood English language skillsExperience working in a challenging automotive environmentStrong analytical mindset with a process-driven approach and the ability to evaluate performance from both process and people perspectivesGood working knowledge of Microsoft Office and its integration with other systemsLeadership and/or people management experience within a global team environmentBasic understanding of Lean principles and tools preferredBasic knowledge of Six Sigma principles and tools preferredStrong analytical, creative, and collaborative problem-solving capabilitiesHands-on, entrepreneurial approach to learning and experimentationAbility to demonstrate resilience and approach challenges as opportunities for continuous improvementWhy Join AptivYou grow at Aptiv.
