The Restraints D&R; Engineer is responsible for the design and release and cost management of restraints components and systems for new and current vehicles including:

- Managing project timing, releasing drawings and engineering specifications.
- Creating specific FMA Documents, DVP&R;, and quality documents.
- Part delivery on time for each program milestone.
- Tracking of supplier’s deliverables.

Commodities include Seatbelts, Airbags, Steering Wheels, Buckles, Height Adjusters, etc.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or Equivalent.
- Masters Degree in similar fields preferred.
- 3+ years of experience working as a design and release Engineer for Restraints Commodities.
- Working knowledge of Regulatory and Public Domain Requirements including but not limited to FMVSS, IIHS, etc.




- Working Knowledge of simulation and testing methodologies for restraints and safety systems.
- Good program management skills with the ability to manage a number of assignments simultaneously and prioritize appropriately.
- Experience leading multiple assignments with demanding timelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others as part of a team.
- Significant problem-solving skills demonstrated previously.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing and Assembly operations. Sharp focus on Quality and Cost management
- Travel will be required to supplier design & testing locations as well as to manufacturing locations in the US, Mexico and Canada.
