Modrush is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our growing Design & Engineering team in Mérida, Yucatán.

The adecuado candidate will be responsible for the structural design, analysis, and engineering of modular building systems, contributing to the development of efficient, safe, and cost-effective solutions for off-site construction and manufacturing.

Key responsibilities include performing structural calculations, developing structural designs and technical documentation, and coordinating with architectural, MEP, and manufacturing teams throughout the design and production process.

The role requires a strong understanding of structural engineering principles, proficiency in structural analysis software, and practical knowledge of Autodesk Revit. Familiarity with BIM methodologies and steel construction systems will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis, design, and calculations for modular building systems.

Develop structural solutions using steel framing systems, including HSS and Light Gauge Steel (LGS).

Prepare and review structural drawings, engineering calculations, technical specifications, and construction details.

Collaborate with architectural, MEP, and manufacturing teams to ensure proper integration of structural systems.

Support the development of structural connections, modular interfaces, and assembly solutions.

Ensure structural designs meet applicable building codes, engineering standards, and project requirements.

Contribute to Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) processes, considering fabrication, transportation, and on-site installation.





Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination and technical reviews using Revit and BIM-based workflows.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in structural analysis, design, and engineering calculations.

Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.

Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit.

Experience in structural steel design and detailing.

Ability to develop and interpret structural drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodologies and collaborative design workflows.

Familiarity with Light Gauge Steel (LGS), HSS structural systems, and steel connections.

Experience with modular construction, prefabrication, or off-site manufacturing.

Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.

Familiarity with U.S. building codes and structural design standards, particularly those applicable to Florida.

Experience with Tekla Structures or other structural modeling and detailing software.

Professional working proficiency in English.
