About Oracle LiveLabs

Oracle LiveLabs is Oracle's hands-on learning platform. It enables customers, partners, students, educators, and internal teams to explore Oracle technologies through guided workshops and real cloud environments used in events, roadshows, university programs, and self-service learning.

The LiveLabs team designs, builds, and operates the application and workshop experience behind these labs. The product includes an Oracle APEX application, Oracle Database and PL/SQL services, Markdown-based workshop content, JavaScript interactions, and interfaces used across desktop and mobile devices.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Principal Full Stack Developer to lead the technical direction of the LiveLabs application and workshop experience. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for front-end and back-end architecture, user experience, APIs, data integration, accessibility, and overall application quality.

Current application work and longer-term modernization are both part of the role. The developer will evaluate full-stack technology options, build prototypes, and recommend an approach without assuming a specific framework or server-side platform in advance.

The developer will work closely with product managers, engineers, workshop authors, and users. They will stay involved in research, design, implementation, testing, code reviews, and production problem solving.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities •Own the architecture and technical direction of the LiveLabs application across front-end interfaces, back-end services, APIs, data access, and workshop experiences.

•Lead hands-on development of responsive and accessible interfaces using HTML, CSS, modern JavaScript or TypeScript, and appropriate front-end frameworks.

•Design and implement secure back-end services, APIs, integrations, and data access layers that are reliable, maintainable, and easy to operate.

•Evaluate full-stack technologies, build prototypes, and define practical modernization plans with clear technical and product tradeoffs.

•Create reusable user interface components and maintain JavaScript elements that improve the usability of Markdown-based workshops.

•Work with product managers, engineers, workshop authors, and users to turn research and feedback into requirements, priorities, and release plans.

•Set standards for accessibility, security, performance, automated testing, and deployment. Diagnose and resolve complex production issues and prevent recurrence through root cause analysis and corrective action.

•Mentor engineers, lead design and code reviews, and explain technical decisions to senior leaders and partners when needed.

Required Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

•10+ years of experience in software development, full-stack engineering, web application development, or a closely related technical role.

•7+ years of hands-on front-end experience with modern JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and at least one component-based framework or library such as React, Preact, Angular, Vue,



Oracle JET, or a comparable technology.

•5+ years of experience developing back-end services and APIs with one or more server-side technologies such as Java, Node.js or TypeScript, Python, or a comparable language and framework. Experience should include API design, authentication, authorization, input validation, and secure coding.

•5+ years of experience with relational database design, SQL, data access, and performance analysis, including hands-on work with Oracle Database and PL/SQL.

•Experience building accessible interfaces and reusable design systems using semantic HTML, ARIA, keyboard navigation, screen readers, responsive design, and WCAG standards.

•Experience with automated front-end and back-end testing, Git and GitHub workflows, build tooling, and continuous integration and delivery.

•Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools or generative AI services in software engineering, including reviewing generated output for accuracy, security, accessibility, and maintainability.

•Proven experience leading complex full-stack work across teams, solving difficult technical problems, setting clear priorities, and explaining technical decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience developing or extending applications with Oracle APEX, Oracle JET, Oracle Redwood components, or comparable enterprise application platforms.

•Experience with Markdown-based content systems, documentation platforms, static site tooling, or interactive technical content.

•Experience with Figma or comparable design tools, user research, usability testing, and product analytics.

•Experience deploying and operating applications on OCI, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud using containers, infrastructure as code, monitoring, or observability tools.

•Experience building technical workshop, lab, training, developer enablement, or self-service learning experiences.

- Pursues learning opportunities to expand knowledge and skills and/or tools in new areas and stays abreast of the latest industry trends and best practices. Proactively seeks and leverages ongoing feedback and training to improve skills. Coaches and mentors junior team members, fostering continuous learning and knowledge sharing within and across teams.

Continuous Improvement:

- Develops ideas, recommends updates, and/or collaborates on the implementation of process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, protocols, and workflows across teams, and evaluates the impact on key stakeholders. Solicits feedback from others on ideas for alternative approaches and methods for continued improvement.

- Contributes to the talent development pipeline by participating in candidate interviews, assessing candidates, and providing hiring recommendations.
