Role Description The Purchasing Assistant role at Dreams Resorts & Spas is a full-time, on-site position based in Quintana Roo, Mexico. The Purchasing Assistant supports the procurement team by preparing and processing purchase orders, maintaining accurate records of purchases, prices, and suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. Responsibilities include obtaining quotes, comparing costs and quality, coordinating with suppliers and internal departments, and tracking inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock. The role also involves verifying invoices against purchase orders, resolving discrepancies, and assisting with reports and documentation to support budget and cost-control initiatives. The Purchasing Assistant collaborates closely with the purchasing and operations teams to ensure that resort needs are met efficiently and in line with company policies. Qualifications
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes and purchasing best practices, with experience supporting day-to-day procurement activities.
• Ability to create, review,



and manage purchase orders accurately, ensuring alignment with budget, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Knowledge of procurement principles, supplier management, and basic contract terms to support vendor selection and negotiation.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with suppliers, internal departments, and management, both verbally and in writing.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools; experience with purchasing or ERP systems is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of inventory control and cost management; hospitality or resort industry experience is preferred.
• Relevant education in Business, Supply Chain, Hospitality Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
