About AGOL Worldwide
AGOL Worldwide is an international logistics company specializing in air freight, time-critical transportation, integral trade, and complex supply chain solutions.
Following our recent IATA accreditation in Mexico, we are expanding our Air Cargo operations and seeking an experienced professional to take ownership of our Monterrey Air Cargo desk.
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional operations, shipment-tracking, or documentation-only position.
We are looking for an experienced, independent, and commercially minded Air Cargo professional who can manage international air freight shipments from A to Z while helping develop a growing business.
Our Mexico Air Cargo operation is currently small, but the foundation is already in place:
- Recently obtained IATA accreditation in Mexico.
- Established bidding platforms, including AOD (Ascent) and CargoBase, generating ongoing quotation opportunities.
- An international network of freight forwarding agents providing air freight opportunities to and from Mexico.
- An established AGOL office in Monterrey.
- Operational support from our U.S. Air Cargo and international Time Critical teams.
You will initially operate as a one-person Air Cargo department, with support available when needed. We need someone who can independently manage quotations, secure airline bookings, execute shipments, develop vendor relationships, and take responsibility for the department's performance.
As the operation grows, this role offers the opportunity to advance into Air Cargo Manager – Mexico , with responsibility for developing and leading a larger team.
Key Responsibilities1. End-to-End Air Cargo Operations
- Independently manage international air exports and imports from quotation through final delivery.
- Obtain airline rates, evaluate routing options, confirm capacity, and manage bookings.
- Prepare, issue, and review MAWB, HAWB, and required shipping documentation.
- Coordinate cargo pickup, airport transfers, screening, terminal delivery, and airline acceptance.
- Manage flight schedules, airline cutoffs, and cargo handling requirements.
- Coordinate import/export clearance and pedimentos with Mexican customs brokers.
- Manage pre-alerts, arrival notices, cargo releases, and final deliveries.
- Resolve shipment delays, offloads, rejected cargo, documentation discrepancies, and operational exceptions.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, costs, billing details, and file closures.
You must already know how to independently execute international air freight shipments.
1. Quotations, Bid Boards & Commercial Growth
- Actively monitor and respond to quotation opportunities through AOD, CargoBase, overseas agents,
and AGOL's international teams.
- Source competitive airline rates and identify efficient routing alternatives.
- Prepare accurate quotations while protecting shipment profitability.
- Respond quickly to urgent and time-sensitive requests.
- Follow up on quotations and help improve conversion rates.
- Coordinate with AGOL's Time Critical division on expedited shipments.
- Identify profitable trade lanes, repeat business opportunities, and potential airline partnerships.
This position requires someone who understands that winning profitable shipments is as important as executing them successfully.
1. Airline & Vendor Relationships
- Develop direct working relationships with airlines, cargo terminals, and ground handling agents.
- Coordinate shipments through Monterrey International Airport (MTY) and other Mexican gateways when required.
- Build relationships with customs brokers, trucking providers, and airport service partners.
- Support direct airline agreements and competitive rate structures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable airline, IATA, security, and cargo handling requirements.
1. Department Ownership & Development
- Independently organize daily quotations, shipments, and operational priorities.
- Take responsibility for operational execution, service quality, and profitability.
- Monitor costs, margins, quotation performance, and shipment activity.
- Establish practical workflows and standard operating procedures.
- Identify opportunities to increase shipment volume and improve operational efficiency.
- Communicate challenges with proposed solutions.
- Work with AGOL's international network to generate and support additional business.
- Help build the operational foundation for future departmental expansion.
You will have support, but you must be comfortable managing your responsibilities without constant supervision. Minimum Qualifications — Required
- 3+ years of hands-on international air freight forwarding operations experience; 5+ years strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to independently manage international air export and import shipments.
- Direct experience with airline bookings, cargo acceptance, and airport operations.
- Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing MAWB and HAWB documentation.
- Experience coordinating Mexican customs clearance and pedimento requirements.
- Ability to prepare competitive air freight quotations and understand chargeable weight, airline pricing, and shipment margins.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, IATA procedures,
and international air freight documentation.
- Professional working proficiency in English and fluency in Spanish.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple quotations and shipments independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at Monterrey International Airport (MTY).
- Existing relationships with airlines, ground handlers, and customs brokers.
- Familiarity with AOD, CargoBase, or other freight bidding platforms.
- Experience with time-critical, automotive, aerospace, technology, or industrial cargo.
- IATA Cargo or Dangerous Goods (DGR) training.
- Experience developing or expanding a freight forwarding operation.
Who We're Looking For We want an operator who thinks like an owner.
Someone who can receive a quotation request, identify the best airline and routing, price the shipment competitively, win the business, and execute it through final delivery.
You should be someone who:
- Takes initiative without waiting for instructions.
- Understands the commercial and operational sides of air freight.
- Can work independently without a large support team.
- Resolves problems directly with airlines, brokers, and vendors.
- Takes accountability for shipment performance and profitability.
- Is motivated by building a department and growing professionally.
Who Should Not Apply This position is not intended for candidates whose experience is primarily limited to shipment tracking, customer service, data entry, documentation support, domestic trucking, or customs brokerage without direct international air freight execution experience.
If you have never independently handled airline bookings, MAWB/HAWB documentation, and international air freight shipment execution, this role is not the right fit.
Career Growth
This is an opportunity to help build AGOL's Air Cargo operation in Mexico.
As shipment volume and profitability grow, the successful candidate may advance into Air Cargo Manager – Mexico , with responsibility for departmental performance, airline relationships, business expansion, and future team development.
Advancement will depend on demonstrated operational performance, leadership capability, and business growth.
Why Join AGOL Worldwide?
- Take ownership of a growing Air Cargo operation.
- Leverage existing bidding platforms and international agent relationships.
- Work independently with support from established international teams.
- Develop direct airline relationships and expand AGOL's presence in Mexico.
- Build toward a future operational management role.
If you are an experienced Air Cargo professional who wants autonomy, responsibility, and the opportunity to build something meaningful, we want to hear from you. Apply only if you have proven hands-on international air freight forwarding experience and are confident managing shipments independently.
