About Praxis
Praxis builds AI-powered technology for dental practices across the United States and Canada. Our platform includes an AI voice receptionist that answers and books patient calls, patient messaging, reputation and SEO tools, and a dashboard that connects a dental practice’s marketing activity directly to the revenue it generates.
We are a small, experienced team building technology that helps dental practices better understand their marketing performance, patient acquisition, and return on investment.
The Role
Every practice owner ultimately wants to answer the same question:
Which of my marketing efforts are bringing in patients and revenue, and what should I change?
As our Software Engineer, Marketing Data & Analytics, you will own the technical systems that help answer that question.
You will connect advertising platforms to Praxis, combine advertising spend with lead, appointment, and revenue data, and build automated reporting and recommendations that help practices understand exactly what their marketing is producing.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you will work closely with our data-platform and product engineers while owning this area end to end.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain advertising integrations. Connect Praxis with platforms including Google Ads and Meta, bringing in campaign, spend, click, conversion, and performance data for individual practices.
- Connect marketing activity to revenue. Work alongside our data-platform engineer to connect ad spend → lead → appointment → collected revenue, allowing practices to understand cost per new patient and production per advertising dollar by channel.
- Build automated reporting. Develop monthly reporting for each practice showing what each marketing channel cost, what it generated, and where performance can improve.
- Support AI-generated insights.
Help power plain-language reporting and recommendations generated from marketing and revenue data while ensuring the written insights accurately reflect the underlying numbers.
- Develop actionable recommendations. Identify potential budget shifts, underperforming campaigns, tracking gaps, and missed opportunities. Practices will review and approve recommendations before changes are implemented.
- Monitor data quality. Build processes to identify broken tracking, missing data, integration failures, and sudden performance changes before they impact reporting or reach the client.
- Own data accuracy. Ensure that every metric presented to clients can be supported by the available data. When the data cannot reliably support a conclusion, the system should clearly identify it as unknown rather than presenting an inaccurate result.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Data while independently owning projects from design through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar technical role working with marketing, advertising technology, growth data, or marketing analytics.
- Production-level experience working with the Google Ads API.
- Production-level experience working with the Meta Marketing API.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational data modeling. PostgreSQL experience is preferred.
- Strong development experience with TypeScript and/or Python, particularly for data pipelines, integrations, backend services, or automation.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing attribution, including UTM parameters,
conversion tracking, call tracking, attribution windows, and the limitations of attribution data.
- Experience integrating data from multiple systems or APIs and creating reliable reporting from those data sources.
- Experience developing automated reports, dashboards, or analytics products that help users make business decisions.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and an ability to identify inconsistencies or failures across integrations and data pipelines.
- High attention to detail, particularly when working with financial, marketing, or performance data.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership in a small, remote engineering team.
- Comfortable working with tools such as GitHub, pull requests, Linear, and AI-assisted development tools.
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare, dental, digital marketing, or a marketing agency environment.
- Experience using LLMs or AI models to transform structured data into written insights or recommendations.
- Experience integrating with GoHighLevel, CallRail, Google Business Profile, or similar marketing platforms.
- Experience with call tracking or lead attribution systems.
- Experience working with HIPAA-regulated or other sensitive data environments.
What Success Looks Like
You will help give each dental practice a clear and reliable view of:
- How much they are spending by marketing channel
- Where their leads and new patients are coming from
- How many leads become appointments
- How much collected revenue their marketing generates
- Their cost per new patient
- Their production per advertising dollar
- Which marketing activities may need attention or adjustment
Most importantly, the numbers must be reliable enough for both our team and our clients to make decisions from them.
Compensation
