Senior QA Automation Engineer
Location: Mexico (Remote)

Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong experience in test automation and quality strategy across front-end, back-end, API, and database layers. The adecuado candidate has a background in the retail industry, hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing workflows, and is comfortable leading quality practices within Agile teams.

Requirements:

- 8+ years of experience in QA, with a strong focus on test automation.
- Experience in the retail industry (e.g., e-commerce, point of sale, inventory, order management, or customer loyalty platforms).
- Strong hands-on experience with modern web automation frameworks: Playwright (preferred), Selenium, or Cypress.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, and/or Python.
- Experience with unit and UI component testing (Jest, React Testing Library, JUnit, TestNG).
- API testing experience using Postman, ReadyAPI, SoapUI, or Swagger.
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate test development (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, Gemini CLI, or similar).
- Experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions), including YAML configuration.
- Cloud experience, preferably GCP and/or AWS.




- Strong database validation skills using SQL.
- Experience with test management and tracking tools (Jira, TestRail, qTest, Azure DevOps).
- Solid experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Advanced English for client-facing communication.

Responsibilities:

- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end automation suites for critical user flows.
- Lead or support framework migrations from legacy tools to modern solutions (e.g., Selenium to Playwright).
- Integrate AI-assisted tools into testing workflows to reduce script development time and improve team velocity.
- Perform front-end, back-end, API, mobile, and database testing.
- Own the full test lifecycle: user story refinement, test data setup, execution, and defect management.
- Partner with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and developers to define clear acceptance criteria.
- Extend test coverage into performance and security testing when needed.
- Report QA metrics and quality status to stakeholders.

- Mobile automation (Appium).
- Performance testing tools (LoadUI, JMeter).
- Monitoring and observability tools (Kibana, Prometheus).
- Experience leading or coordinating QA teams.
