Why this role matters: This role ensures excellence in our video report about the Latin America, delivering content tailored for both newsrooms and digital platforms around the world in English and Spanish. It is also an important part of our global effort to source and verify user-generated content.

What you will do: Reporting to Latin America Deputy News Director for video, you will primarily produce, write and edit video stories for customer newsrooms and AP audiences in all platforms. This will include producing digital-ready video edits with a voice-over in Spanish. You will collaborate with AP journalists across formats in the region to deliver compelling,



high-impact journalism that aligns with AP’s digital-first strategy and AP standards. Your work will help meet the needs of AP’s customers and audiences for quick, accurate and engaging content and contribute to expanding our digital audience. You will:

• Edit story elements quickly and creatively to produce strong visual narratives for newsrooms and digital audiences.

• Edit breaking news video from live feeds on deadline, and write relevant shotlists and scripts with speed and accuracy.

• Produce video edits in a variety of styles for AP customers and audiences in newsrooms, online and on social media around the world.

• Work closely with the global Output Desk on priorities and treatment styles.

• Liaise with newsgathering and planning teams in the region to ensure the quick publication of relevant stories.

• Source, verify and obtain permission to publish user-generated content, and conduct reporting around that content.
