? We’re hiring an AI Engineer!
About the role
Hirably is hiring a hands-on AI Engineer for a growing US commercial real estate investment firm that owns and manages retail centers, industrial warehouses and other commercial properties. This is a newly created, full-time remote position. You’ll report directly to the company’s founder and CEO.
You’ll design, build and maintain the AI agents and automations that make the team’s daily work faster, more accurate and easier to scale. You’ll start with Operations and Accounting, the company’s two highest-impact areas, and then extend your work to Asset Management, Property Management, Acquisitions, Investor Relations, HR and Marketing.
This is a builder role, not a research role. Success means tools the team uses every day, hours saved and fewer errors.
What you’ll do
- Map, simplify and automate operational workflows such as deadline tracking, document management, approvals, onboarding and team reporting.
- Build agents for recurring coordination work, including email triage and drafting, meeting notes, follow-up reminders and status summaries.
- Build AI-assisted accounting workflows for invoice intake, GL coding suggestions, reconciliations, month-end close and monthly reporting.
- Design and deploy agents for multi-step work across departments, such as lease abstraction, due diligence tracking and investor reporting support.
- Integrate core business systems, including Microsoft 365, Dropbox, Notion, Smartsheet, HubSpot and Yardi.
- Design the company’s AI architecture and organize its data so AI tools can search and use it reliably.
- Build and manage a company-wide prompt and skill library.
- Test and monitor every agent for accuracy, especially financial outputs, and keep human review in place where it matters.
- Document workflows, train teammates on new tools and report progress to leadership.
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, automation or data engineering.
- Proven experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications or AI agents in production. A portfolio or examples are required.
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Experience integrating business systems through REST APIs, webhooks and automation platforms such as Microsoft Graph, Power Automate, Zapier, Make or n8n.
- Experience extracting and processing data from PDFs, Excel files and scanned documents.
- A solid understanding of data security and access control for sensitive financial data.
- Advanced written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently with substantial overlap with US Eastern business hours.
- A practical, business-minded approach, comfort working with non-technical teammates and a commitment to accuracy and documentation.
Nice to have
- Experience with LLM APIs and frameworks such as Claude or OpenAI, tool use, RAG and the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Experience with business process improvement, such as workflow design, process mapping and SOPs.
- Commercial real estate experience.
- Knowledge of accounting workflows (AP, AR, reconciliations, month-end close) or Yardi.
? Compensation
Contractor: $3,000 – $3,500 USD per month.
? Schedule
Full time, 100% remote, with substantial overlap with US Eastern business hours.
