About the role

Camarena Architecture is looking for an architect with 3+ years of experience to join us as an independent consultant. You will develop and coordinate complete permit drawing sets for U.S. residential and commercial projects, from design development through construction documentation. You’ll work closely with our Project Managers and senior architects.

What you’ll do

- Independently develop and coordinate full permit drawing packages, from design development to construction documents
- Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, constructibility, and code compliance
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, and fire protection consultants
- Review and respond to municipal plan check comments, and prepare revisions and resubmittals
- Develop architectural details, building sections, specifications, and door, window, and finish schedules
- Ensure compliance with U.S. drafting standards and graphic requirements
- Run QA/QC reviews on drawing sets to catch errors, inconsistencies, and coordination conflicts
- Research applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, and local jurisdictional regulations
- Support construction administration: RFIs, submittals, and supplemental sketches
- Take part in coordination meetings with consultants, clients, contractors, and plan reviewers




- Keep project documentation organized: drawing logs, revision records, and file control
- Track project schedules and flag potential delays or scope changes early
- Communicate daily with Project Managers and senior architects on priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

Requirements

- 3+ years of architecture experience on U.S. projects
- Proven experience developing permit sets and construction documents in the U.S.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of U.S. drafting standards and permit approval processes
- Experience coordinating with MEP and other engineering disciplines
- English C1–C2 for direct communication with U.S. clients and consultants
- Portfolio required
- Comfortable working in ClickUp for task tracking and project updates
