Role Description The Artificial Intelligence Resident will support the firm in exploring, designing, and implementing AI-driven solutions to improve legal workflows, document management, research processes, and client services. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing existing processes, building and testing machine learning models, assisting in data preparation and validation, and collaborating with attorneys and staff to translate legal needs into technical requirements. The Resident will help evaluate AI tools for legal research, contract review, and knowledge management, and contribute to documentation, training materials,



and best practices for AI use within the firm.

This is a part-time, hybrid role based in Cancún, ROO, with a combination of on-site collaboration and some work-from-home flexibility.

Qualifications

- Foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and system design.
- Strong Analytical Skills for problem-solving, process optimization, and interpreting complex legal and business requirements.
- Experience or coursework in Data Science, including data cleaning, exploratory analysis, and working with structured and unstructured data.
- Exposure to Machine Learning concepts and techniques, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, model evaluation, and AI ethics.
- Programming skills in languages commonly used in AI (e.g., Python, R, or similar), and familiarity with relevant libraries or frameworks.
- Interest in applying AI to law, business, and operations; prior experience with legal technology or document automation is a plus.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in clear, accessible terms to non-technical team members.
- Self-directed, organized, and comfortable working in a hybrid environment with cross-functional teams.
- Currently pursuing or having completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Professional proficiency in English; Spanish language skills and familiarity with the Mexican legal or business environment are advantageous.
