Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Duties

- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy equipment including excavators and one ton work vehicles
- Perform routine maintenance on industrial equipment and vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize schematics and OEM specifications to troubleshoot complex systems including hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical components.
- Conduct basic vehicle maintenance
- Operate heavy equipment as needed for testing purposes or during repairs.
- Fabricate parts or components when necessary using welding techniques and power tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications





- Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on heavy equipment repair
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Familiarity with diesel engine repair, HVAC systems, air brake systems, and assembly processes.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks associated with the role.
- Electrical experience is a plus; soldering skills are beneficial for certain repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
- Leadership skills helpful
