Company Qualcomm Intl Inc., Mexico Branch Office Job Area IT Engineering General Summary Qualcomm IT seeks a Kubernetes generalist who canassistwith theconstruction, deployment,management, automation,andtroubleshooting ofhigh performancebare-metalon-premand cloud-basedmulti-tenant Kubernetes clustersusing Rancher. Kubernetes distributions in use are RKE2(on-prem) and GKE, EKS, AKS(cloud). Day to daytasks also includemonitoringperformance and availability of all Kubernetes clusters(including high performance GPU acceleration), as well asdeveloping and deployingplatform automation scripts and software. Candidates willjoin a mature and experienced team of Kubernetes platform administratorswith a wide range of skill levels. Candidateswill havemany opportunities forgrowththrough project work andcoaching from mentors. Examples ofpossibleproject work includeimplementation of self-healing system automation;testing,validation, and deploymentof new Kubernetes versions; transformation of existing platform automation to make use of new Kubernetes functionality; testing and integration ofnewhigh performancebare-metal compute platforms; implementation andtroubleshooting of novel Kubernetes multi-tenancy patterns such asvcluster; migration of Gatekeeper OPA policies to Validating Admission Policy. Baseline requirements Comfortable using anddeveloping on Linux as a primary OS, especially Ubuntu. 2+years Kubernetesadministrationexperience. Advancedproficiencyin Kustomizeor Helm (preferably both). Intermediateknowledge of Kubernetes networking internals (notably Cilium). Direct experience deploying andmaintainingenterprise Kubernetes clusters. Advancedproficiencywith Docker+Container Dand Linux containerinternals. Advancedproficiencywith git and Github. Knowledge of Kubernetes control plane architecture and troubleshooting. Intermediateproficiencywith Pythonor Go.



Intermediateproficiencywith bash scripting. Comfortable with Agile project management in JIRA. Beneficialadditionalexperience Recent CKAD and CKA certifications. CKS certification is a plus. Bare-metal Kubernetes management with Rancher, RKE2, and Cilium. Cloud Kubernetes management (GKE, EKSand AKS). Datadog log and metricscollection;dashboarding. Open Policy Agent (OPA) and Gatekeeper OPA. Kubernetes Ingress/Gateway API implementations. Deployment and management of Portworxand Metal LB. Creating CI/CD workflows using Github Actions. Experience with GPU-accelerated workloads in Kubernetes. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
