About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Atlassian / Jira Administrator to support an enterprise client with multiple Jira migrations, an M&A; integration project, and ongoing IT support. The role will focus primarily on migrating three Atlassian environments into the client's existing Enterprise Jira Cloud site, building a restricted Jira project for an acquisition integration program, and providing Jira administration and IT support coverage as needed.
This is a hands-on role requiring experience with Jira Server-to-Cloud and Cloud-to-Cloud migrations, project configuration, permissions, workflows, and Jira Service Management. The administrator will work closely with the client's internal Atlassian team to coordinate migration activities, validate configurations, and ensure a smooth transition.
Scope of Work
1. Jira Migrations
- Execute three migrations into the client's existing Enterprise Jira Cloud environment.
- Lead discovery of source environments, including users, projects, applications, issues, and attachments.
- Develop migration plans and perform sandbox test migrations before production cutover.
- Coordinate user validation, production migrations, stabilization, cleanup, and documentation.
- Support the migration of a self-hosted Jira Server environment containing approximately 34,570 issues, 10 projects, and 6.4 GB of attachments.
- Prioritize the legacy Jira Server migration, which has a fixed deadline of December 31, 2026.
2. M&A; Integration Project Build
- Configure a restricted, company-managed Jira project within the existing Enterprise Jira Cloud site.
- Set up workflows, custom fields, issue types, permissions, and dashboards.
- Create a reusable project template for future acquisition integrations.
- Enable tracking of milestones, dependencies, risks, and decisions.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and follow security, legal, and access-control requirements before implementation.
3. Jira Administration & IT Support
- Handle Jira administration tickets, including access requests, permission changes, workflow updates, and automation fixes.
- Provide general IT service desk support through Jira Service Management.
- Follow the client's ticket prioritization and service-level guidelines.
- Balance support responsibilities with migration and project delivery priorities.
Requirements
- Proven experience administering Atlassian Jira Cloud and Jira Server/Data Center.
- Hands-on experience with Jira Server-to-Cloud migrations.
- Experience with Cloud-to-Cloud Jira migrations.
- Strong knowledge of Jira project configuration, workflows, permissions, issue types, fields, and dashboards.
- Experience with Jira Service Management and IT support ticket queues.
- Ability to plan and execute migrations, including discovery, testing, cutover, and post-migration stabilization.
- Experience working with restricted-access projects and confidential business information.
- Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and experience collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Availability to start as soon as possible and commit to at least 90 days.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting enterprise Jira environments with multiple projects and applications.
- Experience with Jira migrations involving large issue volumes and attachments.
- Familiarity with federated sign-in and enterprise access management.
- Experience supporting M&A; integration programs or other confidential enterprise initiatives.
- Experience documenting migration procedures and training internal administrators or end users.
Why Join Us?
- 100% remote opportunity for LATAM-based professionals.
- Compensation paid in USD.
- Opportunity to work on enterprise-level Atlassian migrations and a strategic M&A; integration program.
- Initial 90-day engagement with the possibility of extension.
- Collaboration with an established enterprise technology team on high-impact projects.
