AWS/Azure Platform Engineer (PaaS) – Data Platforms

About the Role

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join the Data Platforms team of a leading enterprise client. You will build, maintain and secure the cloud data platform that powers analytics and data engineering teams across the organization. This is a true platform and infrastructure engineering role: you will provision and operate the platform itself, not only develop data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and evolve the ingestion and curation frameworks on AWS and Azure, built on Databricks, Airflow, Kafka, Dremio, Spark, containers and Kubernetes.
- Provision and manage the Databricks platform (workspaces, clusters and environments) using Infrastructure as Code.
- Keep the platform patched, secure and compliant with the client's published security SLAs, remediating findings from vulnerability dashboards without deferring patching or accumulating security debt.
- Plan and execute upgrades of core runtimes (Python, Databricks runtime, Airflow), validating every change in non-production environments and completing a platform burn-in before promotion to production.
- Monitor and manage upgrade and end-of-support risks in near-real time.
- Build and maintain real-time platform health dashboards covering cluster utilization, job success and failure rates, storage costs and pending alerts.
- Build, maintain and support disaster recovery features and replication tooling.
- Develop self-service tooling, automation and documentation that enable engineering teams to adopt and operate platform features independently, keeping them current as the platform evolves.




- Support application teams onboarding to Databricks and contribute to platform feature development.

- Infrastructure as Code
- Cloud platform management (AWS and Azure)
- CI/CD, including Harness
- Databricks platform provisioning
- Performance tuning
- Software development in Python
- Container platforms (Kubernetes)
- Networking
- Security
- Disaster recovery
- [X+ years of relevant experience]
- Professional English, written and spoken

Nice to Have

- Experience with Airflow, Kafka, Dremio and Spark in production
- Experience maintaining platforms against strict security and patching SLAs

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per month
