Data & Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Mexico City, Mexico

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Data & Infrastructure Engineer to provide L1/L2 technical support for IT infrastructure, network connectivity, and digital applications. The role focuses on infrastructure deployment, network configuration, firewall management, system monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable and secure service delivery.

The successful candidate will work closely with technical, engineering, networking, and operations teams to resolve incidents and maintain system performance and availability.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Network Support

- Provide L1/L2 technical support for IT infrastructure, networks, and applications.
- Configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VLANs, IP addressing, routing, and network connectivity.
- Support device deployment, system configuration, and connectivity validation.
- Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, security policies, NAT rules, and VPN tunnels.

Application & Data Support

- Monitor application performance, system availability, and data flows.
- Support data interfaces and protocols, including WITSML, OPC-UA, Modbus TCP, and serial communications.
- Identify and resolve missing, delayed, or intermittent data issues.
- Perform system validation and approved recovery actions following incidents or deployments.

Incident Management

- Manage incidents and service requests through IT service management platforms.




- Troubleshoot technical issues, perform initial root-cause analysis, and collect supporting evidence.
- Escalate complex issues to specialized technical teams.
- Maintain technical documentation and incident records.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

- Coordinate with engineering, networking, product, and operations teams.
- Follow cybersecurity, service management, and change-control procedures.
- Contribute to troubleshooting guides, technical documentation, and service improvements.

Requirements

- 3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, or technical support.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Systems, Telecommunications, Electronics, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP, and routing.
- Experience with firewalls, NAT, and VPN; Palo Alto VM-Series is highly desirable.
- Advanced English proficiency.

Desirable Qualifications

- CCNA training or certification.
- Experience with VMware ESXi, KVM, or virtualization technologies.
- Knowledge of virtual networking, VLAN mapping, and network interfaces.
- Familiarity with Zededa, K3s, or MicroK8s.
- Experience in 24/7 technical support, incident management, and controlled deployments.
