The Mechanical Design Engineer within our NPD Engineering team is responsible for component design and CAD assembly drawings dimensioning and tolerance analysis design for manufacturing top town assemblies and the review and ECN release process G&W; is excited to engage a self motivated and results oriented individual to join our fast paced collaborative work environment that offers consistent learning opportunities and problem solving experience We are offering the unique responsibility to be a contributing member to our engineering team in the following 3D CAD component and assembly modelling for problem solving or from a hand sketchDesign and dimension components with intent for molding machining or other DFM Prepare simplified models for 3D printed prototypes or FEA analyses Participate in prototyping and functional testing of designsUnderstand design implications of relevant industry standards IEEE NEC IEC ANSI UL NEMA etcSelf driven to complete tasks within expected schedule and quality expectationsCoach and review other team members to level up group technical aptitudeCommunicate with functional and cross functional team members to understand design requirements and drive release and validation processesBe a change agent in department and company by identifying and resolving root causes through problem solving activitiesCollaborate cross functionally to support and provide technical aptitude for company and departmental projects as needed eg Product Development Aftermarket Support Application Engineering Supply Chain and ManufacturingRequired Experience Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Design or Relevant Discipline3 years of experience in a technical engineering role with CADExcellent written and verbal communication skills and has demonstrated presentation skills to diverse audiencesStrong analytical design and quantitative problem solving skills Preferred Experience CREO CAD Software experienceLeadership and Training Change Management experienceContinuous improvement initiativesRoot Cause Analysis Problem Solving strategiesISO Certified Manufacturing Environment experience Reliability Design Tools Design For Manufacturability DFM Failure Mode Effect Analysis FMEA Finite Element Analysis FEA Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance GD&T; Design of Experiments DOEExperience with Oracle JD Edwards Business SystemExperience with any Industry Standards and ComplianceRelated power distribution experience
