Fives Automatización México is looking for a Senior Strategic Buyer.

Position Overview

We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Senior Strategic Buyer. to join our team. This position will be responsible for managing direct and indirect purchasing activities, developing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, components, and services required for our industrial automation and manufacturing operations.

The adecuado candidate will have experience working with system integrators and manufacturing companies, international sourcing experience, particularly in China, Thailand, and Indonesia, and strong English communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage purchasing activities for direct materials, components, equipment, and indirect goods and services.
- Source and develop suppliers in China, Thailand, Indonesia, and other international markets.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Coordinate purchasing requirements with engineering, project management, production, and other internal departments.
- Request and analyze quotations, compare supplier proposals, and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies.




- Monitor purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve issues related to lead times, quality, pricing, and availability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
- Support cost-reduction initiatives and identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency.
- Coordinate with logistics and customs teams to support international shipments and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, delivery, and service.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, and procurement documentation.
- Manage urgent purchasing requirements and adapt to changing project and operational priorities.

Required Experience
- Experience in purchasing or procurement within manufacturing companies and/or industrial automation system integrators.
- Experience purchasing both direct materials and indirect goods and services.
- Proven experience sourcing materials, components, or equipment from international suppliers, particularly in China, Thailand, and Indonesia.
- Experience in supplier negotiations, quotation analysis, purchase order management, and delivery follow-up.
- Experience coordinating purchasing activities with engineering, production, project management,



or other cross-functional teams.

Key Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively with international suppliers.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of international purchasing processes, lead times, and supplier management.
- Ability to manage multiple purchasing requirements and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP or purchasing management systems.
- Knowledge of international logistics and import procedures is preferred.
