Auction Technology Group (ATG) is transforming the multi-billion-dollar global auction industry.
Our platforms connect thousands of auction houses with buyers in over 170 countries, powering more than $15 billion in annual sales.
Through innovative online auction technologies, we help auctioneers expand their reach, boost efficiency, and maximize value — while giving bidders unrivaled access to rare and specialized items. As a publicly traded company, ATG has scaled from $18 million to $170 million in revenue, with sustained growth beyond the pandemic.
We're modernizing one of the last industries to fully go digital — building a integral, category-defining business in the process. What are we hiring for?
We're seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join Infrastructure Engineering, the team that owns the platform our product engineers build and ship on.
We're standardizing two things this year: how code gets to production, and how we understand what it's doing once it's there. Our Staff Infrastructure Engineer defines those standards.
You make them real — building the CI/CD golden path, rolling out observability instrumentation alongside our Senior SRE, and migrating teams onto both.
You'll stay close enough to the developers using these platforms to know when something we designed doesn't survive contact with production. This is a hands-on engineering role with a clear remit and real autonomy inside it.
You won't be handed a ticket queue. What you'll be doing:Build and own the CI/CD golden path.
Implement the standard pipeline patterns, migrate services onto them,
and own their speed and reliability.Roll out observability standards.
Working with our Senior SRE, implement instrumentation, dashboards, and alerting so an on-call engineer can diagnose a service they didn't write.Write and maintain infrastructure as code.
Terraform modules, environment definitions, and drift remediation — extending the module library as much as consuming it.Operate Kubernetes workloads.
Deployments, Helm charts, resource tuning, and debugging what breaks in EKS.Partner directly with product engineers.
Pair on migrations, work through problems with them, and bring the friction you find back so the standard improves.Push back when the standard is wrong.
You're closest to how these tools behave in practice.
If something we designed doesn't work, we want to hear it early and from you.Who are we looking for?
Required Experience & Skills:5+ years in DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineeringSolid AWS foundations — VPC, IAM, EC2, EKS/ECS, S3, RDS, load balancing, and Route 53.
You understand how the pieces fit together, not just how to configure themProduction Kubernetes — you've deployed, operated, and debugged real workloads,
ideally on EKSTerraform in production — you've written and maintained modules, managed state properly, and cleaned up driftCI/CD you've built, not just used — GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar, owned end to endScripting for real automation — Python, Go, or Bash, enough to build a tool rather than glue two commands togetherObservability practice — Prometheus/Grafana, Dynatrace or equivalent.
You can instrument a service and build a dashboard someone would actually use at 3amSoft Skills:Works well with software engineers — you can sit with a developer, understand their workflow, and help without talking down to themCommunicates clearly in writing, especially when documenting a standard others will followComfortable with autonomy — given a clear goal, you find the path and ship it without waiting to be steeredPragmatic about adoption; you understand that a standard nobody uses has failed, however well builtNice-to-Have:Internal Developer Platform experience — Backstage, self-service provisioning, or golden path templatesOpenTelemetry specifically, as it's where we're heading for instrumentationGitOps delivery with ArgoCD, Flux, or similarPolicy as code — OPA, Kyverno, Checkov, or equivalent guardrailseCommerce, marketplace, or other high-traffic consumer platformsIf you meet most of the required skills and none of the nice-to-haves, please apply anyway.
We'd rather talk to someone with strong foundations and good judgement than someone who has used every tool on this page once.
