Solvo General is seeking an experienced Hyper-V Engineer to join a large-scale infrastructure transformation project supporting multiple enterprise data centers across the United States and Canada.

This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on migrating virtualized environments from VMware to Microsoft Hyper‑V. The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing, building, administering, and troubleshooting Hyper‑V clusters in production environments, as well as executing VMware migration projects from planning through successful cutover.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a multi‑year initiative involving enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, storage, networking, and disaster recovery technologies.

What You'll Do Build, configure, and maintain Microsoft Hyper‑V hosts and Failover Clusters. Deploy and manage Hyper‑V infrastructure using System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM). Execute VMware v Sphere/ESXi to Hyper‑V migration projects. Plan migration activities, validate environments, perform cutovers, and ensure post‑migration stability. Configure and manage Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV), Live Migration, and high‑availability environments. Work with Fibre Channel (FC) and i SCSI SAN storage environments. Configure and troubleshoot networking components including VLANs, virtual switches, and NIC teaming. Collaborate with Infrastructure, Networking, and Security teams to ensure successful migrations. Optimize virtual machine performance, resource allocation, and system reliability. Create and maintain technical documentation, migration runbooks, and operational procedures. Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives. Required Qualifications 5+ years of hands‑on experience administering Windows Server environments.



Proven experience working with Microsoft Hyper‑V in enterprise production environments. Demonstrated experience migrating workloads from VMware v Sphere/ESXi to Hyper‑V. Strong knowledge of: Hyper‑V SCVMM Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV) Live Migration Active Directory DNS Group Policy Experience with SAN storage technologies: i SCSI Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: VLANs Virtual Switches NIC Teaming Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication. Working knowledge of Power Shell scripting and automation. Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Microsoft certifications such as AZ‑800 or AZ‑801. Experience with Azure or AWS infrastructure. Knowledge of cloud‑based disaster recovery solutions. Experience supporting SAP HANA workloads. Familiarity with Forti Gate firewalls. Experience with Dell i DRAC administration. Previous experience working for an MSP, hosting provider, or multi‑tenant environment. What We're Looking For
