The Position

We are seeking a market-driven Application Engineer to support the growth of our PV and ESS business within the distribution segment, focusing on Residential and Commercial & Industrial (C&I;) applications.

This role goes beyond traditional technical support. The successful candidate will serve as the primary technical pre-sales reference for distributors while acting as a strategic bridge between the local market and HQ. The position will provide valuable insights on regulations, certification requirements, competitive intelligence, and product improvement opportunities to support business growth and market adaptation.

The position reports to the LATAM Technical Coordinator and works closely with the local Sales Representative.

Main Activities and Responsibilities

- Monitor and maintain a deep understanding of national technical regulations, grid codes, and certification requirements applicable to PV and ESS products.
- Lead certification processes for new products and ensure the maintenance and renewal of existing certifications.
- Identify regulatory gaps and propose product improvements or new solution development opportunities to HQ.
- Monitor competitors' product positioning, certifications, and strategic market movements.
- Maintain and update market intelligence databases and reports.
- Act as the primary pre-sales technical contact for distributors.
- Provide hands-on technical support to distributors, EPCs, and installers.
- Work on-site at distributor locations during market development phases (e.g., one week every two months) to accelerate product adoption and strengthen technical relationships.
- Support the Sales Representative during customer meetings and visits as a technical consultant.
- Develop and manage relationships with complementary solution partners, including BOS suppliers, EMS providers, integrators, and other ecosystem stakeholders.
- Provide pre-sales application support for Residential and C&I; PV and ESS solutions.
- Develop technical proposals, system designs, and configurations,



particularly for C&I; ESS applications.
- Ensure proper product positioning according to local standards, regulations, and application requirements.
- Deliver technical training sessions and product workshops for distributors, EPCs, and installers.
- Represent the company at trade fairs, industry events, technical forums, and exhibitions.
- Conduct market analysis during industry events to identify opportunities for market growth and increased market share.
- Maintain close communication with HQ regarding market feedback, customer needs, and product improvement opportunities.
- Understand import logistics processes and product compliance requirements within the local market.
- Support internal stakeholders through the preparation of structured technical and market intelligence reports.

Function-Specific Knowledge and Experience

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in photovoltaic (PV), energy storage systems (ESS), or power electronics industries.
- Strong knowledge of local grid codes, certification processes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience working with distributors, EPCs, and/or installers.
- Experience with Residential and C&I; PV and ESS applications.
- Advanced English proficiency (mandatory), with frequent interaction with HQ and international teams.
- Availability for national travel and occasional international travel.
