We are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and full compliance with Mexican tax and regulatory requirements in a design and architecture company. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines technical accounting depth with ownership and clear communication.

The Accounting Manager will oversee the month-end and year-end close, supervise the accounting team, and work with external advisors. As well as help improve processes and systems.

Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and review of financial statements.

- Ensure financial reporting complies with NIF (Normas de Información Financiera) and accrual accounting principles.

- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including vendor payments, customer invoicing, collections, and aging analysis.

- Ensure compliance with Mexican tax and regulatory requirements, including IVA, ISR, CFDI/e-invoicing, and SAT obligations, and support tax filings and reconciliations.

- Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and other Mexico-based service providers.

- Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting staff.

- Identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and own them through to resolution.





- Use the ERP/accounting system effectively and drive process improvements and automation to reduce manual workarounds.

- Work with accounting and non-accounting stakeholders to provide financial information and support business decisions.

Requirements

- Strong accounting experience, with a solid understanding of NIF and accrual accounting.

- Proven experience managing month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement review.

- Working knowledge of Mexican tax and compliance requirements: IVA, ISR, CFDI/e-invoicing, SAT requirements, and supporting tax filings and reconciliations.

- Experience overseeing AP and AR, including vendor payments, customer invoicing, collections, and aging.

- Experience working with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and other Mexico-based service providers.

- Strong ERP/accounting systems experience and the ability to improve processes rather than rely heavily on manual workarounds.

- Experience supervising and developing accounting staff.

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and take ownership through resolution.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.
