The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of Linux/Unix environments, NAS storage, compute infrastructure, object storage, Jira, Excel, and scripting.

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and the ability to drive tasks to completion in a large enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze infrastructure inventory and usage data using Excel and internal tools to identify decommissioning opportunities.
- Coordinate with application owners to validate resources and obtain formal approval before deletion.

2. Infrastructure Decommissioning and Execution

- Create and manage Jira tickets and Change Requests for approved infrastructure decommissioning activities.
- Coordinate with Storage, Compute, Platform, and other infrastructure teams to ensure the safe removal of unused resources.
- Track progress, pending approvals, risks, dependencies, and blockers, ensuring Jira boards and status reports remain accurate and up to date.
- Prepare and distribute clear status updates, reports, and dashboards for stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Follow established change management, data retention, and compliance procedures.

3. Process Improvement and Automation

- Proactively follow up on outstanding approvals and escalate delays in line with defined SLAs.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reporting, and operational efficiency through scripting and automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and quickly learn new tools, processes, and technologies.
- Use approved AI assistants and automation tools to improve productivity, data analysis, and reporting.

Required Technical Skills

- Infrastructure: Basic understanding of NAS/file storage, file shares, mounts, volumes, quotas, compute resources, and object storage.
- Operating Systems: Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Scripting and Automation: Basic Python skills for scripting, data manipulation, and automation; familiarity with Bash or PowerShell.
- Project and Workflow Management: Hands-on experience with Jira, including boards, tickets, task tracking, and reporting.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, and data analysis.

- Development Tools: Familiarity with VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA, or PyCharm.
- AI Tools: Exposure to GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar AI assistants.
- Change Management: Understanding of change management processes, preferably within enterprise or regulated financial services environments.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in infrastructure management, technology operations, project delivery, or enterprise IT environments.
- Experience supporting large-scale applications or infrastructure operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with infrastructure lifecycle management, resource cleanup, decommissioning, or operational process improvement is an advantage.

Key Competencies

- Strong ownership, attention to detail, and a delivery-focused mindset.
- Clear written and verbal communication with effective stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to collaborate across infrastructure, application, and platform teams.
- Proactive follow-up, timely escalation, and effective issue resolution.
- Ability to manage multiple activities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
