Job Summary:

The Infrastructure Operations Center (IOC) Specialist monitors, manages, and maintains an organization's IT infrastructure to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of critical systems and services. This role is vital in identifying and responding to infrastructure incidents and maintaining infrastructure documentation.

Essential Functions:

- Continuously monitor the organization's infrastructure, including servers, operating systems, databases, public cloud services, and other critical components, using monitoring tools and software.
- Incident Detection and Response: Detect and promptly respond to infrastructure incidents, including outages, performance issues, security breaches, and other anomalies. Follow established incident response procedures.
- Troubleshooting: Analyze and troubleshoot infrastructure problems to identify the root causes and implement solutions or escalate issues to higher-level support teams when necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and incident reports. Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to the relevant teams.
- Alert Management: Manage alerts generated by monitoring systems, classify their severity, and take appropriate actions to resolve or escalate issues.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other IT teams, including network administrators, system administrators, and security teams, to address infrastructure-related concerns and ensure seamless operations.
- Performance Optimization: Identify opportunities for improving infrastructure performance, reliability, and efficiency. Implement changes and optimizations as needed.
- Change Management:



Participate in change management processes, including reviewing proposed changes to infrastructure configurations, assessing potential impacts, and coordinating change implementation.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

Proficiency with infrastructure monitoring tools and systems.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices is a plus.
- The role may require working in shifts to provide 24/7 coverage for the Infrastructure Operations Center.
- Fluent English language skills required: verbal and written communication.
- Self-motivated and disciplined.

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Previous experience in IT operations or infrastructure management.
- ITSM foundation training required.
- Certifications in relevant areas such OS (Windows/Linux/Unix), Backups, Public Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), Virtualization (vMWare, Nutanix, HP Green Lake) is a plus

Physical Requirements:

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
