Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Database Administrator (DBA)
with strong expertise in
PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL)
administration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting large-scale, high-transaction database environments in both on-premises and cloud platforms. This role requires strong database performance tuning skills, cloud database administration experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams to ensure database reliability, availability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
Database Platform Administration (On-Premises & Cloud)
Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain database software.
Administer PostgreSQL databases across on-premises and cloud environments.
Manage database platforms to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.
Perform database startup, shutdown, restart, and failover activities.
Execute capacity planning and database scaling initiatives to support business growth.
Troubleshoot database infrastructure, performance, and availability issues.
Support automated monitoring solutions and respond to alerts proactively.
Participate in planned maintenance windows and outage activities.
Perform database tuning and optimization to meet established SLA requirements.
Database Maintenance & Support
Maintain database environments to meet availability, reliability, and performance SLAs.
Conduct proactive and reactive maintenance activities to minimize service disruptions.
Support database migrations, upgrades, and platform modernization initiatives.
Implement changes in compliance with established Change Management processes.
Provide DBA support during incidents, problem management activities, and business-as-usual (BAU) operations.
Assist in troubleshooting production database issues and performance bottlenecks.
Administrative & Operational Support
Coordinate with infrastructure, application, middleware, network, and cloud teams during incidents and maintenance activities.
Create and maintain operational documentation, including:
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Runbooks
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports
Knowledge Base articles
Assist application teams with:
Performance testing
Query tuning
Database troubleshooting
Capacity planning
Develop and maintain database standards, policies, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
Experience supporting large-scale, high-volume transactional database environments.
Strong expertise in database performance tuning, optimization, and deep-dive performance analysis.
Hands-on experience configuring, administering, and supporting PostgreSQL databases.
Strong understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery methodologies.
Experience working in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight delivery timelines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working in a global delivery model and collaborating across geographically distributed teams.




Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and senior leadership.

IBM DB2 LUW Administration
Advanced Microsoft SQL Server Administration
Experience with database migration projects
Experience supporting enterprise monitoring and observability platforms
Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation frameworks
ITIL process knowledge (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong documentation and process-oriented mindset
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
