Are you a passionate engineer ready to take full ownership of vital chassis components from initial concept to mass production? In this role, you will manage the design, specification, testing, validation, and release of critical structural and dynamic systems (such as suspension, steering, braking systems, frames, control arms, subframes, and structural brackets).
We welcome entry-level engineers and recent graduates with strong academic background or automotive project experience, as well as experienced Product and Design Engineers (up to 8 years of experience) looking to lead and elevate chassis engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Release: Utilize NX Software and/or CATIA (2D & 3D) to design, modify, package, and release assigned chassis commodities, structural components, and assemblies.
- Testing & Validation: Request, authorize, and evaluate required functional, NVH, durability, fatigue, and safety/compliance testing (DVP&R;) both in virtual environments and assembly plants.
- Supplier & Plant Support: Coordinate DFMEAs/PFMEAs with suppliers, manage Engineering Change Notices (ECN/CN), and support Pilot/Pre-series build events at manufacturing plants when travel is required.
- Problem Solving: Analyze structural, fit, and performance failures using advanced problem-management methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa).
- Continuous Improvement & Benchmarking: Propose, validate, and execute mass-reduction (lightweighting), cost-reduction strategies (VAVE), and benchmark performance, weight, and manufacturing efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Electro-mechanical, or related) – Must be graduated/licensed (Titulado).
- Experience: From recent graduates (0 years) up to 8 years of hands-on experience in product engineering, design, or release roles within the automotive industry, ideally focused on chassis commodities.
- For entry-level candidates: Strong academic or extracurricular project background (e.g., Formula SAE, Baja SAE) directly related to vehicle dynamics, suspension geometry, steering systems, or structural chassis design.
- Software: Solid skills in 3D CAD software, specifically Siemens NX and/or CATIA V5/V6.
- Availability: Full availability to travel whenever required by the project (plant launches, supplier visits, testing).
- Languages: Advanced / Fluent English (mandatory) for professional, technical, and conversational collaboration with global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of vehicle dynamics, kinematics, NVH, chassis structural materials (castings, forgings, stampings, aluminum, high-strength steel), and joint design (fasteners, welds).
- Hands-on experience creating and updating DFMEA/PFMEA and DVP&R; documentation.
- Understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) principles and GD&T; application.
- DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) or Red X / Green Belt / Black Belt certifications are a definite plus.
- Strong communication, self-management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
What We Offer
- Remote Work Scheme: Enjoy working remotely, with availability to travel as required by project needs, supplier activities, or plant support.
