Job Overview Our client is looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant - Bilingual Spanish (HIPAA) to deliver essential operational, administrative, and clinical support within a medical or behavioral health practice. In this role, you will manage daily patient communications, coordinate care across external healthcare organizations, handle insurance and scheduling processes, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. Schedule Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week).
Responsibilities
- Answer and return patient calls and messages promptly and professionally.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Complete patient intake and registration follow-up.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Collect copayments and outstanding account balances.
- Process medication refill requests according to established office procedures.




- Communicate with pharmacies and follow up on prior authorizations.
- Coordinate laboratory orders and results with entities such as Quest and Labcorp.
- Send and track referrals, medical records, forms, and authorizations.
- Follow up with prospective patients and referral sources to support patient acquisition and outreach.
- Assist with provider credentialing and general administrative support tasks.
- Maintain accurate task lists and thoroughly document all completed communications.

Requirements
- Fluent in both English and Spanish with clear, easily understood spoken language skills for frequent telephone communication.
- Previous experience working in a U.S.-based medical, psychiatric, or behavioral health practice.
- Strong written communication, grammar, and clinical documentation skills.
