TCS is looking for a Mainframe Developer Sr.

(Candidate must be available to work from Guadalajara, Queretaro, Mexico City or Monterrey office at least 2-3 day per week)

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Mainframe Developer with 6+ years of experience responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting complex mainframe applications. Collaborates with business stakeholders, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions, troubleshoot production issues, optimize system performance, and support critical business operations in a z/OS environment. Experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2/IDMS, CICS, VSAM, and end-to-end SDLC is required. Relevant technologies align with enterprise mainframe environments documented internally.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe applications and enhancements.
- Create and maintain COBOL programs, JCLs, DB2/IDMS objects, VSAM files, and CICS transactions.




- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents, batch failures, and performance issues.
- Support application releases, deployments, and post-implementation validation.
- Coordinate with business users, QA teams, and infrastructure teams during project delivery.
- Participate in application modernization, automation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Prepare technical documentation, impact analysis, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers.

Required Skills
- Advanced English communication
- 6+ years of Mainframe Development experience.
- Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2/IDMS, VSAM, and z/OS.
