Lead our brokerage team and drive profitable growth.

MaxTrans Logistics is looking for an experienced Freight Brokerage Operations Manager to lead our growing brokerage team in Mérida.

We need someone who has personally succeeded as a freight broker and understands the entire business—from prospecting and winning customers to pricing, carrier negotiation, load execution, and account growth.

You’ll develop Team Leaders and brokers, coach real situations on the floor, protect profitability, and hold the team accountable for results.

What you’ll do

- Lead the daily performance of Brokerage Team Leaders and brokers.
- Set clear expectations for attendance, ownership, delegation, customer service, and execution.
- Stay actively involved on the floor, providing practical coaching and addressing issues early.
- Coach customer quoting, pricing, carrier sourcing, negotiation, load coverage, dispatch, and tracking.
- Enforce carrier vetting, fraud prevention, documentation, and customer-specific procedures.
- Resolve service failures and customer escalations with urgency and sound judgment.
- Review revenue, gross margin dollars, gross margin percentage, and load volume.
- Improve weak pricing, reduce preventable losses, and strengthen account profitability.




- Reinforce prospecting, follow-up, customer retention, and account growth.
- Partner with our Sales Trainer to improve broker skills and performance.
- Provide leadership with clear performance updates, risks, and action plans.

Required qualifications

- 5+ years of direct U.S. freight brokerage experience within a third-party logistics (3PL) environment.
- A proven record as a successful freight broker, including personally winning customers and growing a profitable book of business.
- Experience managing, mentoring, or coaching freight brokers.
- Strong cradle-to-grave truckload brokerage knowledge.
- Strong sales, customer pricing, carrier negotiation, and margin management skills.
- Practical experience with carrier vetting, fraud prevention, customer escalations, and claims prevention.
- Excellent leadership, communication, teaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional English proficiency.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Previous brokerage management experience, experience leading Team Leaders, and familiarity with McLeod or a comparable transportation management system are preferred.



Direct freight brokerage experience is required. Candidates must bring experience in both sales and operational execution.

Compensation and schedule

- Starting base salary: $50,000 MXN gross per month (plus all statutory benefits).
- Additional monthly performance incentives paid in MXN, tied to profitability, management execution, and brokerage growth. Details will be discussed during the interview process.
- Full-time, on-site in Mérida, Yucatán.
- Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time (EST/EDT).
