Matador Fire helps homeowners protect their properties from wildfire with an affordable, effective fire-retardant system. Founded in Los Angeles after the January 2025 fires, Matador fills the gap between inexpensive solutions that don't work and effective systems that are out of reach for most homeowners.

The Opportunity

Matador Fire is hiring the first dedicated marketing leader to build and scale the lead engine. Your primary goal is simple: generate a consistent flow of qualified homeowners at a sustainable CAC. You'll own the funnel from customer acquisition through qualified sales appointments - defining our ICP, scaling proven channels, testing new ones, improving conversion and show rates, and giving leadership a clear view of what's working.

Meta has been the teams primary source of qualified leads and will be the immediate priority. From there, you'll identify and test additional channels including Google, TikTok, Nextdoor, local SEO, referrals, direct mail, and door-to-door. This is a hands-on role. We're looking for someone who can set the strategy, execute campaigns, analyze performance, and quickly decide what to scale, improve, or stop.

What You'll Own

- Paid Social: Audit, optimize, and scale Meta campaigns around qualified leads and CAC - not cheap lead volume.
- Paid Search: Build and manage Google Ads targeting homeowners actively searching for wildfire protection.
- Channel Testing: Run disciplined tests across digital and offline channels and determine where Matador should invest.
- Creative Strategy: Develop briefs, repurpose existing content, and work with our video contractor to continuously improve creative.
- Customer Insights:



Use sales calls and funnel data to understand what resonates and translate those insights into better campaigns.
- Measurement: Own attribution and reporting across lead source, cost per qualified lead, CAC, and funnel conversion.
- Funnel Optimization: Improve landing pages, forms, CRM handoffs, appointment qualification, and show rates.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 90 days:

- Meta is consistently generating qualified leads at a sustainable CAC.
- Winning creative is identified and refreshed systematically.
- Google Ads is live and producing measurable results.
- Attribution and reporting are trusted by leadership.
- A clear channel-testing roadmap is in place.
- SQL volume and appointment show rates are improving.

What We're Looking For

Required:

- 5+ years of hands-on Meta Ads experience with accountability for revenue or customer acquisition.
- Experience building an ICP and acquisition strategy from the ground up—not just optimizing an established channel.
- Proven lead-generation success in DTC, home services, or another considered purchase with a sales-assisted funnel.
- Strong understanding of the full funnel from first touch through qualified appointment and close.
- Experience marketing to homeowners within defined geographic markets.
- Strong analytical and creative judgment, including hands-on tracking and attribution.
- AI-native and comfortable using AI tools to work faster and build better workflows.
- Strong written and spoken English and availability during US Pacific business hours.
- Track record of meaningful tenure and ownership in previous roles.

Preferred:

- Hands-on Google Ads experience.
- Home services, insurance, solar, or similar category experience.
- Experience with TikTok, Nextdoor, local SEO, referrals, influencers, or other local acquisition channels.
- Experience running geo-targeted campaigns.
- Experience with mission-driven or trust-based consumer brands.
- Comfortable building lightweight tools and workflows with AI.
