About the role

Avant Group is looking for an IT Infrastructure Liaison & Consultant to be our resident technical expert and the face of our company at a key client site in Sahagún, Mexico.

You’ll run and improve the client’s core infrastructure day to day. You’ll also be the link between our English-speaking engineering team and the Spanish-speaking client teams, so both sides can work as one. Along the way, you’ll spot where the client’s setup is holding them back and help them solve it with new services and solutions.

What you’ll do

- Be the main point of contact between our corporate engineering team (English) and local client stakeholders (Spanish)
- Translate technical requirements, project updates and business needs clearly in both directions
- Handle day-to-day communication, technical reporting and the health of the client relationship
- Find opportunities to improve the client’s infrastructure and recommend new services
- Manage and troubleshoot Cisco networking: switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, routing and VPNs
- Administer and optimize the VMware vSphere environment: hosts, VM lifecycle, clustering and resource allocation
- Act as primary administrator for Windows Server: Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP and account provisioning




- Configure and monitor enterprise storage (SAN/NAS) with a focus on high availability, data retention and disaster recovery readiness
- Provide Tier 2/3 support to resolve critical errors and downtime quickly

What we’re looking for

- Professional fluency in Spanish (native or near-native, for Mexican business settings) and strong professional English. A perfect accent isn’t required, but you must be comfortable discussing complex technical architecture with our engineers
- 5+ years in IT infrastructure engineering, systems administration or a similar client-facing technical role
- Deep knowledge of Cisco IOS/NX-OS, hardware configuration and network security
- Strong experience managing enterprise VMware environments
- Proven Windows Server administration experience, with strong Active Directory skills
- Hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms and backup tools
- Excellent communication and consultative skills, with a natural ability to build trust and spot business opportunities

Nice to have (certifications are not mandatory; equivalent hands-on experience counts)

- CCNA or CCNP
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
