Python FastAPI Engineer

Location: Toluca, Mexico / Remote

Role Overview

Client is looking for an experienced Python FastAPI Engineer with 5–7 years of software development experience to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and REST APIs. The idóneo candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Python, FastAPI, API development, microservices, databases, and cloud technologies .

Responsibilities

- Design and develop scalable backend applications using Python and FastAPI .
- Build and maintain secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices .
- Develop reusable, clean, and maintainable Python code following best practices.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB , or similar.
- Implement API authentication and authorization using OAuth2, JWT, or similar security mechanisms .
- Integrate backend services with third-party APIs and enterprise applications.
- Develop unit and integration tests using PyTest or similar frameworks.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and optimize application performance.




- Work with Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment and containerization.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews and follow Git-based development and CI/CD practices .
- Contribute to technical design, documentation, and continuous improvement of backend platforms.

Required Skills
- 5–7 years of professional software development experience .
- Strong hands-on experience with Python .
- Strong experience developing APIs using FastAPI .
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and API integrations .
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Git, GitHub/GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines .
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- Good understanding of authentication, authorization, JWT, OAuth2, and API security .
- Experience with automated testing using PyTest or equivalent.
